Chapter 62 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Back to Avana.

Among the coins, Eva is eager to discover a long, fluffy coat. It's definitely too big for her, but despite her not-so-subtle excitement to be caught in the nude, she can only handle so much. She's pleased to cover up. It's a good thing too, as Amara explains the gown would not last the trip back. It only persists for approximately eight hours. Of course, the idea of clothes that could suddenly vanish only floods Eva's mind with a fantasy that leaves her quiet for awhile.

You're joined by the two scouts too of course. You need to keep Eva away from Rinlin, because any moment their eyes meet, you can feel one about to pounce again. Just like before, you stop halfway there for a meal before moving once again. It all goes much less eventfully than the way there, that's for sure. No witches, enchanted forests, or anything else.

After night falls, you all arrive at Avana once again. Despite the time, Nyllia insists everybody comes with her tonight. Also, it may be dark, but the streets are filled with lights. It looks to be that streetlights exist in this world, though are likely powered by magic. When you look closely, you can barely make out a white flame within each--one that doesn't feel like it's emitting heat like real fire would.

"I didn't say this before man, but uh... thanks for breaking us free," Thomas says to you as your group makes their way through the city. "That was pretty cool what you did. Rinlin and I might have died if you all didn't show up."

"No problem. It's what heroes do, right?" you jest.

He chuckles. "I guess so. If you meet one, you should ask."

You're tired, aching, and your mind can't handle much more stress today, but you push onwards to follow the great paladin towards wherever it is the queen herself is residing. You follow to a fortified manor deep within the city, farther than you've gone so far. There are stone walls entirely around it, and guards stationed everywhere you can see. Before you can worry you won't even be allowed access, Nyllia finishes showing a letter to the knights blocking the main gate, and you're all allowed entry.

What do you do?
