Half-empty halls and whispers

The High Abbey is a massive maze of stone passageways, huge echoing chambers and half-forgotten ancient alcoves. Though in better times the halls are filled with the servants of the Burning Rose, you find most of them deserted - the greater part of the strength of the order followed the Supreme War Mother to confront Thoros. Still, you run across a few initiates and sisters as you try to make your way to the quarters of Paladin Ilmara. Most are on their own, hurrying about their chores, other move past you in small groups. Once, you have to duck into an alcove to allow a whole choir of initiates led by a raven-haired Paladin to pass.

Most of your sisters offer a simple greeting and move on with their duties. Several offer some token of thanks, recalling your efforts to bring the holy Sword to the Abbey. Others seem to edge away warily, and you catch snippets of whispers from behind you - demon-slut, Imp whore... And a few greet you with a knowing wink, and a familiar lascivious lust lurking behind their eyes. A particularly insistent Sister pulls you into an empty alcove, and presses herself against you, her lips seeking out yours. In between slick kisses, she whispers hotly in your ear, begging for you to move her up in line. Apparently an unofficial schedule has developed among those paying visits to the Imp, and she thinks you can help her get her turn early. The things she's promising you in return would be enough to earn her two weeks of penance if a Paladin had overheard her. You send her on her way with vague promises and hurry on, her taste lingering on your lips.

Eventually you find your destination - a heavy oaken door, bound in thick strip of dark iron. Two armored Paladins flank the portal, their faces unfamiliar to you.

"Here to see Ilmara?" the one the right speaks in a neutral tone, while her partner's eyes scan you up and down. "You can go in, Sister - she's expecting you."

She reaches over and grasps the door's ring with an armored gauntlet. Pulling the door open, she motions you inside.
