You will live alone

... contrary to your expectations, you managed to get a single room. Probably it would be even more fun to have a roommate, but you have a feeling your experience would be intense enough most of the time without one and you would be grateful for a space of your own to recover in if some of the manifestations of your rules go further than you would have liked. Which, as you well know, is quite likely. Not that having a room to yourself will guarantee privacy. A number of staff members and the residence wardens from the student body will have access to it... And nearly unlimited disciplinary rights over you, starting with the move-in inspection.

You meet your residence student warden a lot faster than you expected. The gentleman at the office reception gives you your student ID card which will also be your key and a leaflet with information; he then tells you the directions. You thank him graciously even though you did not need them. Before you turn to leave though the young Arabic woman wearing a headscarf who was talking to him prior to your arrival speaks up. Calling you by name, she introduces herself as Nylah and says she is your dormitory's resident student warden and she will be happy to show you the way as she is done here anyway and was about to head back. This way you can also get the inspection out of the way immediately too, she adds amiably.

You actually were compulsively hoping to go through your luggage again even though you checked it many times, but you dismiss those thoughts and accept her offer without having to fake gratitude. The heavy paddle attached to the strap of her small handbag adds weight to her persuasiveness, even though you are not sure if it is used more on her or by her. Nylah even helps by taking your rather heavy bag against your meek protests. Together you walk towards your new home, which is a short distance away, chatting about your courses and the University in general. She is also a PhD student (and nearing the end of her research) and you enjoy her company immediately. Her headscarf looks positively strange with the rest of her clothes, which while dark in tone and sensible still comply with the rather revealing dress code. She holds herself most comfortably, though, leaving you once again to marvel at the Rulebook’s potential.

The dorm room is quite similar to the one you visited earlier after your interview. It is a bit smaller, being designed for one rather than two, but you will have ample space nonetheless. The desk is just massive, which will help to organise the tonnes of papers and books you are likely to be using. The room is not en suite but there is a sink ("... it's good to be able to wash your face after crying after a spanking", a voice in your head whispers). Nylah points out the kitchen and shower room doors down the hallway before closing the door behind you and asking you to open your bags and lay everything out. Nervous for no reason, you obey. Your clothes go into several separate neat piles on the bed; the few non-university books you took (most are in the long-term storage now) go straight onto the shelf. The kitchen you will share is stocked with most things you might need you have taken very few items for that and Nylah tells you to put them straight into your shelf in the kitchen after giving them a customary glance. When you are back not having encountered anyone on the way she has already laid out your toiletries and cosmetics.

The last few items take no time at all to take out and then Nylah asks you to strip and leave your clothes on the bed with the rest. While you are stripping, trying to balance the feeling of friendliness towards the young woman and the fear of having done something stupid without knowing it, she takes a bottle of lubricant and a measuring tape out of her bag. Once you are naked she asks you to stand by the door facing the room while she is making sure all items are permissible.
