There must be a way to get them back?
Daniel, her boyfriend
A call from the ER.
A desperate Uber attempt.
A mad dash to the ward.
Daniel never hoped such a thing would happen to his princess, especially while she was in school.
As the glaring reflection of the fluorescent lamps in the white tiles of the ward room floor blinded his vision, Daniel stormed his way to the counter.
Fully panting, his face dotted with sweat, he asked the receptionist between breaths, “I’m looking for a Chrystal Wong... 19 Year old Asian Woman... About 5 foot 4...”
The receptionist just pointed in a direction, and off he ran.
Chrystal was in her own ward, a single bed laid against the wall in the center of the room. Her legs were bandaged from the ankle down, and Daniel could tell that whatever attacked her was something he’d never want to meet.
Daniel stepped closer.
“Hey babe.” He said, his voice cracking as tears began to well up in his eyes.
“Hey.” Chrystal responded weakly, barely opening her eyes.
“I’m gonna find out who did this to you. They’ll pay for what’s happened.” Daniel stoically replied, his hand caressing Chrystal’s.
“Don’t.” “They’re going to hurt you too. You aren’t strong enough.” Chrystal weakly replied.
Daniel was taken aback. His girlfriend knew he was the athletic type. He could easily match some of the rugby players at their college in terms of strength, so why would this foe be any different? Even if brawn weren’t enough, he could surely outsmart his opposers.
“I’ll take them on regardless.” He replied.
“Hehe, good luck.” Chrystal smiled, before closing her eyes.
Daniel went into a sudden state of panic, before he realized that she was just sleeping.
He left that ward with a burning vengeance.
“Whatever hurt my girlfriend, will be brought to justice. No matter the cost.” He thought to himself.
