Chapter 11

Which floor do you head to in the labs?
Top floor, to the director's office
You hit the button to the top floor, floor 25, and boarded the elevator.
This was entirely the opposite of what you would have done. Or, what you would have thought you would have done. Just a little while ago, you were a lab tech content with staying put in your job and never achieving greatness. But you were also an ambitious slimegirl who thought Hideki Labs needed some serious changes in how it operated. And you were a bodysuit that cared about the wellbeing and betterment of those who assisted with your research.
Your research. It was strange, it felt like you'd just been handed more than just a new body. All the history and work you'd done, or at least that two thirds of you had done, gave you a very unique perspective. However, the human in you was the catalyst to spark something new, instead of remaining with the status quo. You're surprised that it was you who was ready to lead this charge, but you couldn't deny that you felt like you could move mountains now, and with all your personalities mixed, your perspective was ideal to make a difference here.
You exited the elevator at the top floor, wandering down a long open hall, decorated on either side to look like the lab was a century ahead of its time. Your hips swayed hypnotically as you strolled, a slight smile on your face. Every little motion you made was enjoyable to you, but you didn't let it distract from your focus. Rather, your body's job would be to distract everyone else.
You strolled up to a final door. Dr. Reginald Brooks, Director. He didn't have just lettering on his door spelling out his title, it was a full-on hologram floating out toward you. With a swipe of Zoe's badge, the doors hissed open. You and maybe a half-dozen people had direct access to Dr. Brooks.
The office was massive, with high ceilings, fancy décor that felt like how the people of last century would view the century beyond yours. The room was littered with displays along the walls of holograms of items in the Hideki R&D departments around the world. Hideki had its hands in everything from biotech to aerospace, and their vast portfolio of items that weren't even on the market dwarfed the next competitor's offered products for each division. There were still big rivals, such as Shaw Sciences, but Hideki Labs was the forefront of biotech research, something you knew far more clearly now.
"We need to push back the date on Project Quicksilver. No, it's not--no. They're not reacting as predicted in a controlled setting, which means we need to tune the--hold on." Dr. Brooks had been on the phone, the oldest-looking item the room possessed. That assessment included the doctor, as the man in his mid-forties certainly didn't look anything but fit, healthy, handsome. A carefully-maintained hint of grey on each side of his head, and in his beard, tried to provide maturity, but there was still youthful vigor in his face. He hung up the phone the moment you entered, entranced by your unquestionable beauty as much as he was perplexed by your presence.
"Excuse me, have we met? How'd you get in here?"
You stepped closer to Dr. Brooks, and he tensed up behind his desk. He didn't know if you were hostile or you were going to strip out of that lab coat and show him a good time--although it was clear which scenario he was imagining as his eyes trailed up and down your body. You put your badges on the desk: Hildebrand, Walker, Lockard.
"Have we met... yes and no. The short story is, these three are not returning to the company, and I will be taking the place of Dr. Hildebrand and Dr. Walker for the biomedical R&D division."
"What do you--"
"I resign my position," you said, as your face changed to match Zoe's original head. Reginald immediately recognized who he was talking to at least. "As do I," you said, changing to look like Dr. Walker's head, or at least the one she had been using when she needed a human disguise.
Reginald sat back in his chair, running a hand through his neatly-trimmed beard. He's seen just about everything this company has to offer, so he was quite open to unique circumstances. And as your face changed back to your newly-designed 'Juno' appearance, Dr. Brooks found himself immediately accepting of whatever you might ask.
"If you can take on the workload as this new you, then as you like. You'll need to do that little shapeshifting thing again downstairs to craft a believable exit, I'm not just going to say there's a mystery woman taking over for two scientists that have vanished into nowhere."
You nodded, as you took a seat across from him. "Will it be any problem getting paperwork for a new identity and badges?"
"No more so than when you had previously... look. No business talk for a moment, I've got the heart of a scientist even if I'm in the director's chair, and I need to know. How in the world is this all possible?"
You smiled, leaning forward a little. "Well, it's pretty straightforward. Zoe and Chloe integrated their unique biological features into Emily, someone they strongly admired. ...from a non-academic standpoint, I feel I need to point out. They simply felt a connection with her. Chloe's biopolymers made a neural connection between all three minds, and here I sit, a new woman. You can call me Dr. Juno Ternion, I'm simultaneously all and none of these three women. But, I have their knowledge, their talents, their appreciation for each other... all carefully balanced to create me. And I think I am exponentially greater than the sum of my parts."
Reginald shifted a bit in his seat. You knew precisely what that meant--he wasn't seeing much beyond the physical aspect of you. "I have to say, this is incredible from an angle for research! I never expected this sort of synergy would be possible with your unique biology. This sort of development could spawn a whole new set of breakthroughs for the company."
Dr. Brooks leaned forward, leaning on his desk. "But, you come to my office, interrupt a very important business call, and make a lot of sudden demands upon me and my resources to essentially change an entire department's leadership, not to mention creating a person out of thin air in public records. I can do it, and I most certainly will, but I need a favor from you first."
What does Dr. Brooks want?
Suits and Slimes
Zoe is a living bodysuit, Chloe is a slime. Both need the energy from a host to survive, and they are head over heels in love with you!
You've been working at a Hideki Technology biotech lab for a few years, and a few of the lab's more successful creations have grown fond of you, having watched you for a while. You didn't even realize it--they've been posing as scientists for years! But now living bodysuit Zoe and/or slimegirl Chloe want to get to know you better, and they want to share their talents that being a living bodysuit or a slime can bring... Partly a reboot of a writing dot com story "And Bodysuit Makes Three", as well as inspired by "Your Slime Girl Lover" from the same site. I wrote ABMT, and the 'green slime' path on YSGL was also done mostly by me.
