Slightly before driving off in her car to Sunrise Mall in Brownsville, Lex sent a text message to Bianca. Sure, she likely already knew, but at least this way Lex felt more self assured. This was a rather worrisome situation, but it wasn't like she had much of a choice. Was this some sort of test? Was Dr. Smith trying to capture her? Well, no matter the situation, at least Bianca and Sazla knew where she was going.

After finding a parking spot, Lex went inside the food court's entrance to Sunrise Mall. As she entered, this thought suddenly entered her mind, 'Damn it, I don't even know what Dr. Smith looks like. I can't believe I forgot to ask for something so basic.' She felt a soft hand squeeze her right ass cheek, a woman's voice whispered into her ear. "Mm, aren't you the defenseless one. You really should be more wary of your surroundings. Luckily for you I am not planning to kidnap you, but with an ass like that. I just might reconsider it." Lex was watching her actions, but was confused. However, what she was doing became quite apparent when the noisy food court suddenly fell silent. She sighed softly before looking up slightly and said. "This will be a simple, if you scratch my back, I will scratch yours kind of deal. You've made a small group within the Abyss very upset with you. Even if they don't realize it yet, but that group is the Divine Cross. It was the guild my brother had been working for before he met you." Lex started to say this before she was cut off. "I'm sorry ab..." Evelyn lifted up a hand and said. "Don't worry your pretty head about it. He got what he deserved. I am saddened by his loss, but he wasn't a saint by any means."

She tilted her head up slightly before continuing to speak. "I think in the long run he would have ended up like our father, but that is not the point." When she looked back down, she gazed deeply into Lex's eyes and said. "Mm, you do have such lovely eyes. Before we get down to business, I desire to know. What's your name?" Lex's gazed met Evelyn's, causing them both to blush as Lex said. "I'm Lex, it's a pleasure to meet you, Dr. Smith." Evelyn began to pout and said. "Please, call me, Evelyn."

Lex nodded slightly and coughed before saying. "Right, um, a pleasure to meet you, Evelyn." Evelyn smiled, nodding slightly as she said. "Good. Now that pleasantries are out of the way. We can get down to business." She leaned forward slightly and gazed even more deeply into Lex's eyes, but Lex received a notification warning.

Lex expression quickly changed after reading that notification to a scowl. Sure, it didn't affect her, but it certainly wasn't a show of good faith. She got up and said. "If you are going to ask me for a favor. I suggest you start with what the job is and what you will offer me in return. I can take it or leave it. However, if you try whatever that was again. Not only will this conversation be over, but if I ever see you again. I can promise that you won't survive." Evelyn's F score ticked up to 15 as she began to pout and said. "Boo, fine. I'll do things properly. My apologies, I am a pretty woman who is used to getting her way. I'm sure you understand. I can't imagine you haven't used your looks and/or abilities to get what you wanted too."

Lex grunted while pouting. Sure, she understood what Evelyn meant, but she was still upset about it. Lex started to think back over the last couple of days before shaking her head, saying. "I can't say that I have ever done such a thing, Evelyn. I am not that attractive, but even if I was. I wouldn't because I like to earn what I get." That got Evelyn's attention as her eyes widened, her F score ticked up to 20 while focusing more on Lex's lips and said. "Oh my, you don't realize your pretty?" She got up and moved closer to Lex, smiling as she looked Lex up and down before saying. "Trust me when I say, there are men out there who would sell their soul in a heart beat for a single night with you, but I digress." She turned around to sit back in her seat and gestured for Lex to do the same.

After Lex sat back down, Evelyn began to talk about what she really asked Lex here for. "The Divine Cross has collected several phylacteries over the years. Although I am sure you've heard of what a phylactery is, I am going to clarify which one I actually want. I am not talking about the one worn by Jewish men around their necks during morning prayer. I am referring to the powerful artifact of self resurrection. As such they would be invaluable to my research. However, they are practically useless to most people. Not only are they very difficult to destroy without dire consequences, but they can even corrupt those who have been in physical possession of it for too long." She playfully smiled before continuing to speak. "I am already doing you a solid by telling you that the Divine Cross will be coming after you before they are ready."

Evelyn sighed before pulling out a small pink clutch purse from her bosom, opening it while beginning to speak again. "In hindsight of offending you, I will even give you something before you get started." She reached into her clutch purse, pulling out three items, a book, a pair of glasses, and a blue gem before placing them on the table in front of Lex and said. "I want you to take one of these items. Think of it as a show of good faith on my part. After this job is complete, I will give you, $500,000 and another three items to choose from. After which our business will be complete."

Before Lex had a chance to look at the items before her, Evelyn leaned back and said coldly. "However, if you cross me. I promise, you won't know what hit you. Oh, and you wouldn't have time to kiss your little worshiper goodbye." Lex sighed, nodding slightly and said. "Honestly, I don't think I can trust you, Evelyn. However, I rather not make anymore enemies than I have to." Evelyn seemed unmoved, but tilted her head slightly and said. "Fair enough, but do we have a deal? If we do, I would like to go over where you need to go. Oh, and we will need to go over what you'll be looking for in more detail too." Lex looked over to the items first, using Observe on them and said. "I will need a moment to think about it."
