Who does it belong to?
Terri.
Spinning around, you see Terri, wearing a simple T-shirt with jean jacket and for some reason, a floral pattern skirt that ends just under her knees. "No, no one. Um... you look nice, but uh...it's gonna be a little chilly in the cinema. You sure you're going to be okay in the skirt?" you stammer.
"Yeah..." Terri's cheeks go red a bit, and she wrings the hem of her skirt. "I kind of wanted to go with pants, but the roommate wouldn't let me out if I didn't." The two of you stand and chuckle awkwardly at each other, before Selas nudges you to offer your arm and take her to the cinema. You do so, and Selas also mentions that, from reading her mind, Terri's roommate is also spending the night at her boyfriend's, so their house is empty for the night.
When you get to the cinema however, you find that everything is sold out of tickets except for a sappy romance movie. You both shrug and spend a couple minutes discussing who is going to pay for it. You concede to let her pay for the movie and snacks, but you're footing the bill for dinner. It doesn't stop feeling like you're being manipulated, when the snack display puts out a promotion that for any couples going to watch the romance movie, they get a large popcorn and soda to share at half price. It doesn't surprise you that Terri took that deal, but you're not sure if it was practicality or something else.
The movie itself is so corny and badly acted that you manage to make it ten minutes before wanting to stab your own eyes out, but Terri and Selas are fully engrossed in it. You do notice though, that Terri does shiver every now and then, from the cold air conditioning. And the only time Selas takes her eyes off the screen, is when the leading man and woman are about to make their way to bed together. She very purposefully puts your hand on Terri's knee and makes you stroke it gently, before turning her full attention back to the movie. You try to pull your hand away, but Terri laces her fingers with yours and holds it tight, still focused on the screen. Rolling your eyes, you squeeze back and try to survive the rest of the movie.
