Chapter 27

Crouching Leo
Hidden Angel
It didn't take long for you to reach Chinatown, and even less time to find Mark's body since the police were there surrounding his corpse.
"It looks like a gang hit, you sure we shouldn't hand this off to the Organized Crime Division?" You heard one cop ask whom you presumed to be his partner.
"That's not our call to make. Let's just run it like a normal investigation and if we uncover anything, we'll just hand it off later, okay?" The other cop answered.
Deciding that you had already came this far, you ducked around a corner, reaching for the familiar Whitelighter powers that were barely below the surface, you didn't even feel the change overtake you as you glanced into a puddle, a young teen male's face staring back at you.
Finding the 'disguise' suitable, you peaked back around the corner and as if by divine intervention, one of the two detectives glanced your way, apparently you looked enough like a local that he didn't even question calling you over.
"Boy, can I ask you some questions?" He asked, already walking towards you as you gave a short nod before the guy's partner grabbed him by the arm.
"You know you can't do this, we have to have the kid's parents present." He stage whispered.
"That's only if we take the kid in, there nothing wrong with asking him if he saw anything, right?" The first guy responded as you interjected.
"Besides, my parents are dead, same guys that killed Mark." You entered the conversation.
"Mark, is that the...?" The detective gestured over his shoulder at Mark's body, which was now being covered by a sheet.
"Yes, he was nice guy, visit often, sometimes buy things from me for too much, but guys grab him, drag him into alley, burn him." You felt a slight bit of racism, imitating the halting English, but you brushed it away since Mark's soul was on the line here!
The two detectives shared a look and while they were distracted, you tore off back down the alley, the cops calling after you. "Wait, we have more questions for you?"
You paused at the mouth of the alley, turning around, adopting a indignant look on your face. "That your problem, you ask too many questions, I have to live here, they find you, kill you, never find bodies, Yama eat you!" You cried, before turning and sprinting away, turning down another abandoned alley as you felt the shift drop, returning you to your base form.
"Well, that's taken care of, now to deal with the Triad goons." You muttered to yourself, focusing on the name of the warehouse as you vanished in a swirl of orbs, moments before the detective appeared around the corner only to find an empty alley.
You appeared just outside of the warehouse, dusting off your clothes, not that they needed it, before slowly striding into the warehouse only to find the lower level empty, although you could hear voices upstairs.
For a brief moment, you contemplated simply walking in, letting them try to kill you only to shrug off the bullets but you knew you needed to keep this as clean as possible.
Even with what you'd said in the alley, the jewelry on the body would identify Mark as Tony Wong, and the only way to fix that was if Tony's body was found. Just as important was that they would investigate his ****, and you didn't feel like getting dragged into a police interrogation room simply for being here, not that that was all you would be doing here. Sure you simply 'erase' all the evidence of you being here, but good habits helped in the long run.
So with that in mind, you simply vanished in another swirls of orbs, reappearing the center of the upstairs room, right between Tony and two of his goons, who all jumped.
"Who are you?! How did you get in here?!" Tony Wong asking the big questions as you pinned him with a fiery stare.
"I am nameless, and as for how I got here, you killed an innocent boy, and his mother asked for vengeance." You said with an emotionless voice.
"Well, I don't think you'll be avenging anybody today, or ever for that matter!" Tony said as he drew a gun, his two goons mirroring him as they all tried to shoot you. Opportune word being tried...
Drawing on a power that you'd only seen done being Piper, you snapped you fingers, time slowing to a halt as you took in the hail of bullets surrounding you as you simply walked to the corner of the room, time resuming as you saw chunks of Tony's desk go flying off, Tony himself catching one in the shoulder and another in his chest as he went down.
Both of Tony's goons went down like sacks of potatoes, stray bullets catching them as you gave a soft chuckle as you walked to the door, only to hear a loud grunt behind you.
"I don't care who you are, don't think I'm just going to let you walk out of here after that!" Tony growled, crawling out from behind his desk. You had to give it to him, like any gang boss, he seemed to take a large amount of damage to be put down.
"On the contrary, I don't think you can stop me." You taunted as Tony tried one last attempt to shoot you, as you decided to show him how hopeless it was as you swung your hand around, catching the bullet like an anime hero before flicking the bullet back at him, breaking his ankle.
"Game over." You said, walking out of the room with a muffled shut of the door.
Walking down the stairs, you wondered how long it would take for the cops to show up, and figured you'd already come this far, taking out a phone from your pocket, dialing 911.
"Hello, 911, what's your emergency?" A soft female voice inquired.
"Yeah, I think somethings happening down here in Chinatown, me and my girlfriend were getting all lovey-dovey when we heard a whole bunch of gunshots coming from one of the warehouses down here, you need to send some cops or something right now!" You said in the phone before hanging up.
"And earlier this evening, notorious Triad leader Tony Wong was discovered dead in a Chinatown warehouse. When police were asked about details about the ongoing investigation, they only had this to say, the screen shifted to, ironically, Andy as he gave a short soundbite to the media.
"Look, all we can say at this time is that it appears to have been a power play that went bad." The screen shifted back to the reporter who said she'd keep the public update as more information came in.
"Well, it looks like everything turned out okay after all." You said to the girls and Mark the ghost.
"How did you do it?" Piper asked for the group.
"Hmm, I just slipped a kid a twenty to feed the police some lines, they took it from there. I suppose you could say I got the ball rolling and everything else just seemed to fall into place, almost like it was divine provenience. Of course, I'm speaking to three witches and a ghost so who's to say that avenging angels aren't a real thing." You said, playing the matter like a off-hand joke.
"While I don't like you lying to the police, I suppose in this case it had to be done, just another thing to hide from them after all." Prue muttered, looking away.
Is there anything else you've forgotten?
