Knock. Knock. Knock. You knocked on the door three times, calmly waiting for Mark's mother to answer the door, Piper nervously glancing around next to you with Mark just behind.

Finally she opened the door, with a soft "Yes?" You glanced at Piper next to you, waiting to make sure she was okay with this before you dove into the deep end, getting a short nod, you turned back to Mrs. Chao.

"Hello, Mrs. Chao, my name is Leo and this is Piper, we're friends of Mark's. We were wondering if you had heard from him?" You opened, Piper's nervous refusal to meet her eyes helping to selling the act of to worried friends.

"No, have you heard from him. I haven't heard from him since yesterday morning." Mrs. Chao answered.

"I was afraid of that, I don't know how to tell you this, but I think something may have happened to him. We were supposed to meet him yesterday to celebrate his birthday, but he never showed up, we overheard one of the vendors mention something about 'that poor boy' and 'Tony Wong'." You can see her eyes start to glisten, your eyes dropping to the floor as you realize the weight of what you're going to have to do.

"If you hear anything from him, please let us know, and we'll do the same, we're fixing to go search around Chinatown to see if anyone has seen him since yesterday morning, maybe if we're all lucky he has some secret Chinese girl he went on a date with." You added, hoping to elicit a smile from the nearly grieving mother, but it didn't seem to help.

"Wait, you can't just leave it like that, Piper tell him that she needs to know where my body is, tell her!" Mark is yelling, but Piper clenches her jaw, tears apparent in her eyes, as she can't meet your gaze, and you feel it, the need to fix this.

Before you have time to reconsider, you've turned on your heel, frantically knocking on the door, both Piper and Mark seem caught off guard by your sudden energy.

It's only a few second before Mrs. Chao answers the door, a tissue clutched in her hand, the barely held back tears no longer restrained.

"Mrs. Chao, I'm so very sorry, but I-I don't know how to explain it, but it was like a cold voice saying 'My name is Mark, not John, they don't know who I am. Why didn't I listen to my mother?' Do you have something of Mark's like a hairbrush or comb, or maybe a toothbrush, something with DNA that we can take to the police? I know he was a good boy, and stayed out of trouble so if the police find his body, they wouldn't know who he is." You asked frantically, winging it as you go along.

"Umm, yes, I do, I have an old hairbrush, let me get it for you." She said, turning back into the house with newfound energy.

"What are you doing Leo,?" Piper hissed at you.

"I'm going off the rails, I can't just leave her wondering what happened to her son. I want you to go to the police station, talk to Andy, get this sorted out in person!" You all but ordered.

"But-" Whatever she'd been about to ask was lost as Mrs. Chao returned, hairbrush in hand, coming out the door with purpose.

"Umm, Mrs. Chao, I didn't intend for you to come as well, I'd hate for you to have to see him if we find him." You added kindly.

"No, if my son is there then I need to get his body, so I can give him a proper burial to keep Yama away!" Mrs. Chao said, already at Piper's Jeep.

"Okay, new plan, Piper you take her with you, I'm going down to Chinatown to see if anyone has found Mark's body. You will have to lie when you file a missing persons report, they won't even consider looking if it hasn't been 48 hours. Think of it like a little lie, since it's not an overreaction and time is of the essence, okay. I trust you can handle this." You said, turning on your heel as you began to run away.

"I'm sorry to dump all this on you Piper, but my job is to keep you girls safe, and powers or not, I'm not letting you go anywhere near a warehouse full of Triad members with guns!" You muttered under your breath, a single-point focus in your mind.
