Out of the city.

Time ticked slowly away as the mysterious driver took Maisie out of the city. She watched her phone signal drop slowly, bar by bar, until it only popped up again as they drove through a town. She leaned forward and knocked gently on the divide.

"Excuse me, where are we going?"

Silence.

"Hello, I asked a question. Where am I being taken?"

The divider lowered slightly. More cracked, really, and a voice came through the half-inch gap.

"Sit the fuck down or I'll pull over and make you sit down."

The divider went back up again.

Maisie sat in shocked silence. She was pretty sure that had been an implied **** threat. Or at the very least, an implied manhandling threat. If she was being entirely honest with herself, she wasn't opposed to either of them? For a hot second, she debated leaning forward and banging on the divider, really causing a fuss, just to see exactly what kind of threat it had been.

She decided against it. Best to leave herself unmarked for whoever she was being taken to, lest she somehow end up being the one in trouble for the driver's sexual ****.

Finally, after what felt like days of driving, the car turned off the road and up a laneway towards a large country house. It had a distinctly intimidating vibe, like something out of an old erotic thriller or something. The car pulled up in front of a staircase leading up to a tall double doorway. The locks clicked.

Maisie glanced up at the stairs, and then out the opposite window down the laneway. What would happen if she tried to make a break for it? She wouldn't get very far, for sure. The driver could just run her down. But how would she be treated inside afterwards. Better, for having the nerve? Or worse for... also having the nerve?

Maisie sat frozen, her heart pounding in her chest, her nerves screaming at her both to run for it, and to calmly follow the orders she'd been given.
