Wake Nihara up

Your chest fills with dread; more dread than in the arena fighting for your life. Nihara's been put in here because of you and your big mouth, and is in a position where in her **** state is relying on you for safety and protection, and being chained up, you are completely unable to provide. If she were awake you imagine she could reasonably defend herself. She's strong and defiant. At the least, she may be able to help you get free of these chains, and you're sure that together you could take on anyone else in this prison.

Therein also lays the dilemma. The only way you can wake her up right now is with your voice. The act that wakes her up is the same one that makes others aware of her presence. There's no reason to think that the Boss didn't parade Nihara's naked body through the prison to get everyone's attention, or somehow further rigged this game of his against the two of you. You haven't seen many of the other slaves move about freely, but for all you know, that could be about to change.

You try shaking of the chains. It would be loud enough that it might get her to wake up, but fairly routine enough to not seem out of the ordinary, or so you reasoned in your head. Your initial attempt is unsuccessful, and rattling them louder still doesn't work. Worse, it got the attention of a guard, who comes close to investigate. He sees Nihara out on the floor, and you immediately sense the change in his demeanor. His hands straddling his belt, he saunters confidently "Well well, what a fortuitous circumstance is this! A hen's been left in the chicken coop."

Discretion over, you try a different tactic. Speaking loudly, nearly yelling "Hey now, you're going to want to rethink this idea. She's a real bitch if she doesn't get her beauty sleep. You wake her up for anything, and you're going to have hell to pay. And if you get any ideas of getting friendly, forget it. She'll destroy whatever you have to show her."

The guard chuckles at your foolish attempt to talk him out of it "I think I'll take my chances. Don't think I'm afraid of some fiery-haired cunt or a chained monster like you." He pulls the unlocked gate open, keeping well out of arms reach of you, and slowly undoes his belt to free his erection. You have one last chance to keep Nihara not-****, and you're unsure how well this is going to work, but you have nothing else to lose at this point. You take in all the breath you can into your chest, and than let our a great bestial guttural roar that echoes throughout the prison.

Nihara is startled and bolts awake in fear, though the emotion quickly changes to rage as she sees the guard over her and instinctively realizes what he was about to do. Before the guard can react, Nihara swiftly raises her leg and kicks the guard in his groin, striking his prized testicles with fury. Racked in pain, the guard falls back promptly. Not finished yet, Nihara gets on top of him and begins to beat him senseless in his unprotected face. Just becoming aware of her surroundings, she sees you chained to the wall, and her expression does not change for the better. She clearly recognizes you, but is nonverbal. Whatever plan she has, she's not sharing with you. In a blur, she removes the keyring off the guards belt and fumbles to find the key to free you. She's only able to get your left arm free before more guards arrive, this time with swords drawn.

"What the fuck happened?" The lead of the three guards asked. You respond before she does, playing the familiar card of sarcastic resistance "Your friend here tripped and fell. She was trying to get me out so that I can help get him back on his feet". The guards know as well as you do that this is complete nonsense and are able to deduce what probably actually happened. The lead guard sheaths his weapon, and the two others follow suit. "Well, he probably deserved to fall. Drinking on the job can do that to you, never know what might happen. We'll get him out of here, but you two stay put, understand?" You two nod silently. The two underlings drag their fellow guard out slowly as the leader takes the keys away from Nihara, and proceeds to unshackle the rest of you. He suspects the strange looks he gets from the others, and directs them away "If you two insist on just dragging him I suggest you get a move on. It's a long way to the doctor after all" Understanding the implication, the two move on hurriedly.

"The Boss has it out for the two of you, obviously" the captain speaks quietly "I don't know why, but what he doesn't know isn't going to hurt him. You both are damned good fighters, and 'ere oughta be a little less misery in this pisshole. It's not much, but I'm rootin forya, and I'll do what I can to keepya safe." He relocks the gate behind him before walking away "understand, this is for your protection." You both nod in silent recognition as he walks off.
