I entered the Common Room to see a mass of people on the inside. They left an aisle clear for me to enter into and cheered wildly as I walked in.
Banners floated above their heads. Reading things such as "Halfhwit the nude knight," and "Dragonslayer."
Heavy hands patted my shoulder in congratulations. Some shot silly string from their wands. Others raised flagons of pumpkin juice and butterbeer in celebration.
Their were only a couple Ravenclaw's missing.
"You were fantastic Idius," said Roger Davies. I was certain that prick didn't like me.
"I'm so happy you got your second arm back," said Luna. Awe, she was so sweet. What did she mean by having it back? What happened after I had shoved that bottle in his throat?
Flitwick led me to the center of the Common Room. With a table full of food.
"Now now," he said with hands motioning for the crowd to quiet down, "I know we are all happy to have Idius back with us. Especially after what was an exemplary performance in the First Task."
"The Dragon punted you Professor Flitwick," said Michael. Professor Flitwick raised his stubby fingers at Michael in warning.
"Luckily for us," said Professor Flitwick, "another Ravenclaw used his brain better than any others out there. Putting his life on the line." I began to look at the scars on my arm. I looked at my shoulder, wondering what kind of scars would be beneath the bandages.
"That is why we are with him this morning," said Flitwick, "to celebrate. After a few choice words from our guest."
Someone not in our house emerged. It was Ludo Bagman.
"Marvolous," he said. Ludo Bagman held out his gloved hand, I shook it, and felt the pain of his grip radiate through my arm. "Sorry," he whispered.
"That performance will be remembered for a long time. No doubt, no doubt. But don't worry Mr. Halfhwit, you have a long break before the second task. Which, will take place on the morning of February the 24th. And that egg there."
Mr. Bagman pointed to the table, and sure enough. A golden egg sat.
"That egg holds a riddle, and within that riddle, answers to all you will need for the second task." I grabbed a hold of the egg, seeing that it had hinges on top. Getting it open looked easy enough.
"Now I must get going," said Bagman, "I look forward to your next performance Mr. Halfhwit." I held the egg close to myself as we celebrated.
The other students of Ravenclaw were treating me like a King. But in the back of my mind I knew the second task could be worse than the first. If I wasn't prepared, I may not get a second chance. It was a good thing then, that the riddle held in this Golden Egg, was exactly what a Ravenclaw was good at.
