Chapter 18 by daciasdesire daciasdesire

How does Spencer respond?

Never leave any doors closed you might want to open one day.

Spencer turned things over in his head in the time it took Danielle to complete her paperwork and enter everything into the computer. He was sleeping with Darcie. That was about the only thing he could say for certain. Were they having an affair? Yes. No. Well, kind of but it didn’t feel like it. They weren’t doing anything behind Tony’s back that he wasn’t aware of and had in fact given his blessing. They didn’t want their kids to know so there was that. Were they a couple? Were they dating? Darcie was still married to Tony and Spencer was 100% sure he didn’t want to take her away from him. He never would have even started anything with Darcie if that had been his intention. It was two friends achieving mutual release.

Spencer badly wanted to speak with Darcie before he said anything to Danielle but he also didn’t want to leave things without at least keeping the possibility of something happening in the future alive. Who knew if Dani would ever make another offer to Spencer if he ignored it now.

“Thank you, Spencer. I’ll make sure these all go through and I will email you the confirmation when I have it,” Danielle told him as they were about to leave her office and re-enter the rear of the bank. She had reverted back to her formal business persona after feeling stupid for having said something to Spencer as she had.

“Danielle, one second,” Spencer stopped her before she could open the door and he would lose his chance. “Things like this aren’t easy for me. I’ve gone through some stuff and am going through some stuff still but if there comes a time when I know what it is I want, I’d really like it if you could help me.”

“Of course, Spencer. You know my office hours and I’m always happy to clear my schedule for you,” Danielle told him as she smiled at him and missed what he was getting at.

Spencer took a half step closer to Danielle and placed his hand on her waist, slightly past her hip and towards her backside. “Maybe outside of work hours. At night.”

Danielle suddenly found herself flushing at Spencer’s contact. “I’d really like that,” she told him.

“Me too,” he said as he turned and exited Danielle’s office and out of the bank.

Spencer didn’t know it but Danielle had gone back to her office chair and was quickly fanning the front of her business shirt trying to expel the heat he had just caused in her. Danielle’s panties wet through at the pussy and sticking uncomfortably between her legs.

From the bank, Spencer picked up some groceries and was back home before 10 am. Putting the shopping away Spencer had a sandwich before deciding to take a walk around his property. Darcie hadn’t given him a time that she would be over so he decided to get outside and have some fresh air. Kayaking was a bit too strenuous and might leave him feeling depleted for later so a short hike was in order. Spencer had his phone on him in case Darcie called.

Thinking back to what Danielle had asked him about what he wanted, Spencer started turning things over in his mind. He had found great satisfaction, much more than he had expected, in renovating his farmhouse with his own two hands. It had started as a way to keep his mind occupied from thinking of Kirsten to something he truly loved doing. He found it a catch 22 in that he would have dearly loved to show Kirsten the farmhouse he had turned into something beautiful but also knew that she had still been alive he never would have started it. Spencer took it as another indicator that life moves on.

The house was almost completely finished now and once it was done Spencer would need something else to do. He didn’t want to renovate someone else’s house as the most sure-fire way to start hating something you loved was to do it as a job, Spencer thought. Some old photos he found of the property underneath some floorboards had shown the farmhouse in its original condition and Spencer had tried to achieve that same look, at least on the outside anyway. Inside he had modernised everything in order to make things as comfortable as possible for Amy and himself. The photos did show a large barn next to the house that was nothing more than some broken foundations now. Did Spencer want to build a barn to go with his farmhouse? He was sure Amy would love a horse to keep in the barn. It was something he would look into.

Spencer was broken from his daydreaming when he felt his phone start to vibrate in his pocket. Taking it out he was happy to see it was the call from Darcie he had been waiting on.

“Hey, Darcie,” Spencer began as he answered it.

“Hey, Spencer. Are you at home? I’m at your house. Your cars here but I can’t see you anywhere,” Darcie told him as she began their conversation.

Looking around himself, Spencer realised that he had walked further into the woods that he meant to and was a bit longer from the house than he’d intended.

“Sorry I was just taking a walk. I’ll be back in about 15 minutes. Let yourself in and make yourself at home. There’s coffee in the pot if you want it,” he told her.

“Sorry I should have called before I came. Guess it was just looking forward to seeing you and thought I’d surprise you,” Darcie said to Spencer.

“I was looking forward to seeing you too. I didn’t try and run off into the woods and hide from you, I promise,” Spencer joked laughing.

Darcie laughed too and told him she would be waiting until he got back.

On the way back to the farmhouse, Spencer pushed himself to make what was probably a twenty-minute walk in fifteen such was he excited to be with Darcie sooner. He’d walked these wood hundreds of times in the past few years but this was still the first time that he was near frightened half to **** by a deer. Turning a corner in the trail he hadn’t even been aware it was there until it suddenly sprang up and started running no more than three meters from where he had been standing. A baby deer had been sitting in the leaf fall without making a single sound. Spencer wondered if he had walked right past it on his way out too.

After that scare and his heart racing even harder than before, Spencer began to think about if there might be any hunters in the woods. It was deer season and he wondered if he should be wearing orange when he took a walk through his woods. He didn’t want to get shot by mistake. Spencer had never been hunting and wasn’t all that keen on guns so didn’t know what the rules were.

Making it back to the house, Spencer called to Darcie to let her know that he had arrived. He didn’t find her in the kitchen and living area where he’d expected her to be waiting. Not hearing her answer he started to look for her. As he exited the kitchen he found a shirt lying on the floor that leads to the bedroom area. Following the trail, Spencer came across the rest of Darcie’s clothes, including her bra and panties, on the way to his bedroom.

Standing in the doorway of his room, Spencer looked at Darcie lying naked within his bed, the sheets pulled up to cover her beautiful breasts. Her arms and shoulders uncovered.

When he hadn't said a word for a moment Darcie asked with a sultry grin, “I’m not in Amy’s bed, am I?

“No,” Spencer said, “your exactly where you're meant to be.”

What's next?
