One of his early inventions the idea of which came to him after reading a book on telepathy was a Mnemonic Perceptual Filter which created a selective low-level psionic field that encompassed the interior of Aaron's room and extended into the hall so that anyone outside looking in would be similarly affected as the people inside the room. He designed and built the device in a matter of minutes once he had the right components and The effects of the field as the device's name implies were focused on the perception of reality or more specifically, The events taking place inside the room at any given time.

To put it another way, Those affected by the perceptual filter will actively avoid close proximity to Aaron's room while not consciously realizing why when the filter is turned up to a higher setting and at it's normal operational setting the filter performs real-time neuro-cognitive editing of a person's memory while simultaneously manufacturing customized full sensory simulations conveyed via simulated photons through the optic nerve of the eyes or the surface of the skin of those effected that override and replace all of the sensory information they have received from the time they make contact with the field to the time they leave it's sphere of influence so anyone in or near the room will unconsciously ignore anything going on in said room that they would normally consider unusual or out of the ordinary even if it was happening just inches from their face because as far as they are consciously aware nothing bizarre or memorable has happened rendering those events completely invisible to all of the viewer's senses whether the individuals affected are telepathic, mentally shielded, or possess a high resistance or immunity to subtle or overt psychic manipulation. The process is also highly adaptive and even makes use of the affecteds own previously formed memories and expectations to guide the process so as to minimize or eliminate any psychological problems that might result from the changes made which once fully integrated become untraceable and indistinguishable from their own memories either by telepathic probe or the latest medical scanning and imaging technologies.
