Darcie was keen on seeing Spencer the very next day and after taking a look at her stunning photos so was Spencer. The only thing Spencer had to do tomorrow was call past the bank and have a meeting with the Customer Manager Danielle. Darcie though had a lot more on.

“Can you believe I let Kimberly talk Tony into getting the house redone? I’m going to have contractors in my house for weeks now,” Darcie complained when she told him she had someone coming over in the morning to give then a quote.

“I’m sorry. I should have come up with a better cover than I did,” Spencer apologised for the mess he had gotten Darcie into.

“It’s not your fault really Spence. I just like to bitch and complain to anyone that will listen,” she told him letting him know there was no real harm done.

“What about the bathroom Kim was talking about in the car?” Spencer asked.

“That and a bigger wardrobe too. I’m going to lose half of my office.”

Spencer had a small but good-sized piece of land. The highlight was the old farmhouse which was the reason he bought it. That and the lake it was by that Spencer enjoyed kayaking on. He didn’t know if he’d ever get Darcie in a canoe but if she was prepared to take a small hike through the woods there was a good view of the mountains that comprised The Carter Trail that Avonwick was well known for.

So it was that Spencer found himself looking forward to seeing a woman tomorrow. Something he hadn’t done for a long time. And while he still thought of Kirsten just as much as he did each and every day, the sting of missing didn’t feel quite as painful as it normally would.
