Do things go as planned?
Down the Mountain
Step one turned out to be fairly easy - thankfully your goat corpse hadn't been set upon by anything else, and with your newly boosted athleticism skill it was much easier to pick it up. You walked along the edge of the cliff, still trying not to be seen from below, and eventually found the spot above your cave. A peek over the edge confirmed, since you knew what you were looking for, that as long as you didn't fling the goat too hard you should still be able to land it on the path instead of all the way down into the forest.
After your soft toss, almost a roll really, you heard the dull thud and crunch of the body on rock, and looking over you could see the goat splayed out on the path.
Right, step one done.
Next you had quite the walk ahead of you. It took nearly two hours to get down the mountain following the main path, circling around the southern cliff face and down into the rough foothills. You left the path, which led deeper into the forests, and went back towards the cliff, following it at it's base as closely as you could. Thick patches of trees and brush, outcroppings of rock and boulder, and the occasional snuffling sounds of forest predators disrupted your journey and you were about 500 feet from the cliff face when you broke into a small clearing. You took a moment to stare up at the cliff, and you spotted the deep shadow that had to be your cave, far up the side. From here it looked about the size of your thumb, like a dark fold in the rock - it wasn't actually as noticeable as you had always thought it would be. Now that you had a landmark, you guessed you were about five minutes from where the 'aim for the trees' Adventurers had been standing. Well, five minutes up on the clear clifftop, maybe ten minutes down in the forest.
You pushed on, trying to make your way back through the trees and shrubbery to the cliff face, but ended up needing to skirt around a dense patch of tickweed that would have given you a nasty full-body itch for days.
"See, Charlotte? I told you people would be stupid enough to try it."
You froze, hand on a tree, and then quickly ducked down. The voice came from ahead of you, near the cliff face.
"I have to admit, you were right," another female voice responded. "Some people really are that stupid and gullible. Look at this, there's a second one over there."
Creeping forward so low that you were almost on all fours, you got to the edge of the treeline and saw the two Adventurers standing up on a small, flat boulder sunken into the earth at the base of the cliff. They were searching the ground around them. One, a lean figure, was hopping down from the rock and heading towards a large brown satchel on the ground about thirty feet away from the edge of the cliff. It was a corpse marker, nestled up next to a fallen log and a pointy looking rock, and it was glowing green in your vision. It belonged to you.
As the lean adventurer came closer you saw she was wearing a hard, boiled leather breastplate that accentuated her thin frame and a skirt of leather strips. She had a sword at her waist and a shield slung on her back, a bow and arrows poking out from below it.
Gaela Wonderlight, Level 8 Amazon
Hero, Human, Active, Explicit
The other adventurer was stockier, but of a similar height. Unlike the Amazon with her full and luscious black hair, she was a brunette with severely straight hair cut at the jaw and a wide face. She was wearing what you could only think of as scalemale underwear, triangles of metal scales covering her breasts and pelvic area. Thick daubs of green warpaint lined her bare, muscular sides and upper chest in swirls, and covered half of her face. She set her large sword aside after jumping down from the boulder as well to begin rustling through a second corpse marker, this one closer to the cliff and not glowing.
Charlotte Bloodwind, Level 7 Barbarian
Hero, Human, Active, Explicit
Before today, you would have tried to sneak away as quickly as possible, and then run as fast as you could from a pair like this. Now, though... Now you were Level 8. You were still outnumbered, but it wasn't so out of your reach that you immediately turned tail and ran.
"Hey, this one won't open," Gaela said, tugging at the drawstring of the corpse marker sack. "What the hell?"
Charlotte was pulling items out of the other bag when she looked up. "Huh. Maybe someone pushed that one? What's the killmarker say?"
"There isn't a name on it," Gaela said. "Just says 'Killed by blank'."
"Now that's weird. Hey, look at what I found!" Charlotte said. Then she de-equipped her scalemail underwear, and then equipped the leather armour that James Birthrite had been wearing when he jumped from the cliff. It appeared on her as a leather halter showing off a swath of her underboob, and a pair of leather shorts that clung to her thick frame like a second skin. "It's magic leather! I can stop wearing the metal bikini finally."
Gaela snorted, "It's not much better, Char."
You didn't really have an opinion. You were still mesmerized by the second of time between the dropping and equipping of armour. In that brief moment Charlotte had been naked; heavy breasts, luscious hips and bare cunt open to the world. It awakened something in you that hadn't rumbled in a long, long time. Your mouth was dry, and a heat was flaring in your belly and chest. Two Adventurers, ripe and delicious. Something inside you, deep in your bugbear instincts, wanted to take, and dominate. To pillage.
Plus, they were trying to steal your loot.
You licked your lips, weighing the desires building in your chest with the situation.
