"Let's See What The Reaction Is !"

The trio were back in bed with Debbi's laptop, waiting for the broadcast of her episode of Down On The Farm. "Did you go to see Roddy last week ?" Lawrence asked. "Yeah, we watched an opera DVD. Why do you ask ?" said Debbi. "Well, he scored a hat trick on Saturday, his first goals for weeks" laughed Lawrence. "Ah" said Debbi. "Shush. Time for the show" interrupted Lesley as the familiar cheesy theme tune began to play.

Debbi watched through gaps in her fingers as her scene played out. As promised, the strip didn't show anything to frighten the horses unduly and it was indeed a long shot of her bare bum being chased out of the pub to her car. "You were wonderful" Lesley congratulated her. "I wouldn't go that far" laughed Lawrence, as Debbi poked him playfully. "Let's see what the reaction is on social media" Lesley suggested, grabbing the laptop. "Must we ?" Debbi was not eager. "Of course, the critics will have seen preview tapes" Lesley insisted.

"Here's one; Debbi lifted the series out of the slump it has been in, lighting up the screen with her cheeky persona and sultry good looks !"

"Ooh" said Debbi

"And another; Bimbo WAG's performance of a stripper was so wooden it seemed to have come off the shelves of IKEA."

"Aah" said Debbi.

"Never mind, this one says; All hot blooded males **** to watch the series by their other halves, will hope that Debbi's appearance is not a one off and she will continue to provide a reason to watch !"

"Ooh" said Debbi.

"This says; Whoever thought it would be a good idea to cash in on the notoriety of Bimbo WAG will be bitterly regretting it after the fiasco of this debut. You seem to split opinion Deb but I thought you were great" Lesley reassured her.

"Aah" said Debbi.

"Do you notice, the positive reviews call you Debbi and are written by blokes ? And the negative ones stick with Bimbo WAG and are by women ?" Lawrence pointed out. "Oh well, that's probably me out of the show then, since most of the regular audience is female" Debbi decided. At which point her phone chirped. Debbi took the call from Reg the producer. Contrary to expectations, he assured Debbi that the results from the viewing panel were favourable. Female viewers appreciated characters they could feel ambivalent about.

"He'll be in touch via Harry" Debbi told her friends. "Talking of Harry, I need your help" she continued. "Me ?" said Lesley. "Probably both of you 'cos we'll need photos. Harry's arranged a deal with a mail order company to launch my own range of lingerie and I need you to help me design it" Debbi explained. "I can do that" Lesley agreed, diving beneath the covers.
