Chapter 93 by airwreck airwreck

What happened next?

A tour of 666 Park Avenue.

"I bought the three-storey maisonette back in 1953 from the Schley estate," Grace explained as she led the couple from the living back into the foyer. "I could not pass up the irony of an angel living at 666 Park Avenue. Silly superstitions!"

"But why are you living in New York?" Ryan asked.

"I am the guardian of this region and given that Manhattan's dense population it is safe to safe say there was a substantial fiendish activity in the city."

"Does it still?"

"Not any more," Grace smirked. "Nonetheless, I still keep watch here.

"Now back to the tour. This limestone building was built in 1927 and before it was completed socialite and philanthropist Virginia Vanderbilt purchased the twenty-seven-room maisonette, consisting of the second, third, and fourth floors. The second floor, as you can see, have twenty-four-foot high ceilings and taller windows. I would like to point out that Mrs. Vanderbilt brought the 17th century pine paneling from the Spettisbury Manor in England."

Grace led them through the rest of the floor, showing the main salon and library, with elegant contemporary decor and furniture instead of the old furnishings Ryan's parents inherited from his paternal grandparents. Like a museum tour guide, she mentioned any interesting historic notes of the building and rooms.

"You live here all by yourself?" he asked as they took the small private elevator to the third floor.

"No," Grace smiled. "I share the maisonette with, who you may call, 'roommates.'"

"Roommates?" Ryan wondered, looking at first at Grace and then to Marlissa but neither women's faces hinted at what the angel meant. But before he could press the blonde further the lift stopped at the third floor and a figure waited for them on the other side of the elevator's collapsible metal gate.

Who was waiting for them?
