Falling further

As it would turn out, making a deck of just 'Lady' cards was a lot easier than Brice had expected it to be. Sure, he had heard his fair share that such decks were bad or unusable, but he was going to prove them wrong. Hopefully.

"Here goes nothing." the businessman thought, setting the deck as his default one. Then, it was time for a match. Clicking the 'random opponent' button, it was time to wait. Since this was a new deck he was running, it provided an opportunity to get his mic ready. Voice chat was integral part of games like this - bringing with them personas and to some extent, commentary. Though, he was going more for the former in this situation.

Eventually, the loading screen transitioned into a new screen - one showing both his avatar and that of his opponent. For this occasion, Brice had gone with the card art based off one of the boss monsters for his avatar - 'Queen Harmony'.

Supposedly, the royal lady was gather suitors (all female) for a large and upscale ball of sorts. Well, that was what the bonus flavor text card he had gotten with the card said. On top of being their win condition - complete the ball and rush the field with princesses.

Which in turn, was what he gone for as his title.

"Are you ready to get beaten?" his opponent - someone with a lolita girl avatar announced, Brice rolling his eyes. He was used to this sort of smack talk, though it was quite rude to shout it towards a lady.

"That will remain to be seen." he answered back, trying his best to mimic the ladies he was using at the moment. "If you speak like that, I might not invite you to my ball."

The words rolled on out, Brice letting his dream take hold just a little more. Talking like this felt surprisingly good and somehow... natural.

With introductions out of the way, both players were dealt their hands. Then came the coin toss.

"Heads." Brice whispered, watching the coin twirl about in the air. Landing down, he let out as dignified and refined of a sigh that he could muster. "Fine, you may go first."

While he got no response, his opponent made their move - summoning a young girl decked out in a gothic lolita dress. Didn't look too threatening. Not that Brice was going to underestimate him. Not one bit.

"Your move." his opponent remarked, the game automatically drawing a card for him. Brice looked to it, breathing a mental sigh of relief.

Clicking on that card in particular, a lady appears on the field. Much like Brice at the moment, she was dressed in a ballroom gown. Fiery red in color, her name was Ava. If he remembered that correctly. Especially since he now needed to choose another card. Looking over his options, his gaze eventually focused on a lady dressed in blue named Bianca.

Waving her folding fan, a second lady joins her. But not without blowing Ava a kiss. Ava's cheeks glow pink, mumbles of something followed. On Brice's end, he made a note of their behavior. Just in case.

"Attack, my ladies."

Both ladies charged forward, making quick work of the little girl on the other side. Gracefully returning to their side of the battlefield, Ava was congratulating her girlfriend. Though, no real kiss at the moment.

Ending his turn, Brice watched his opponent play no monsters. Instead, he discarded a card and play a spell - Lolita Fashion Change.

Out popped another Lolita gal. This one waved towards the lady. Though, she had a look to her. As if she wanted a lady of her own.

"Attack." his opponent announced, the girl making her way over. But instead of attacking, she struck up a conversation with Brice's ladies. "Darn it."

They gave the match up, giving the businessman the victory. So Brice turned his attention to his monsters at the moment.

"Good job." he announced, both ladies blushing. Strangely, the lolita girl was there as well. She looked away, only for Ava to grab hold of her hand. "Hey. You'll find a lady who cares for you."

That made the lolita girl feel better.
