Chapter 28

So what was it like back at school?
Tiring but guitar club was a plus!
Ridiculously, 12 hours after climbing off the coach at the end of the trip- your alarm was blaring to get up for school. Of course, it was Monday morning- a nightmare at he best of times but usually you felt you'd had a weekend to rest up. As amazing as the trip was, rest was definitely never on the agenda!
You noticed those of your new friends that were in some of your classes- you actually had Drama with Alex and how long had Daisy been in your English class? Surely you'd have noticed her beautiful blue eyes? Not to mention the way she looked at a pool cue...
"Snap out of it El!"
Barked Sam. It was Chemistry class and he was trying to pass you the boiling tube.
Fuck! This week was gonna drag.
It did until guitar club after school on Wednesday. You were one of he more experienced now, having gone for four years already- and it fell to you to help the newbies. Usually super-keen eleven year olds who wanted to be Angus Young... alright, more likely one of the bloody Jonas bros but what you weren't expecting was Lily...
"Hi", she smiled disarmingly and she sheepishly wandered in. Her being in the other year half, you hadn't seen her since returning but in her uniform? God she looked beautiful. Not in a creepy way, after all, she was actually a couple of months older than you but her hair seemed to shine differently in every strand and the way her skin looked beneath the... aw fuck you were probably in love with her.
Lily grabbed one of the music room's acoustics and sat with the first years. She was completely unfazed. You handed her a laminate with the finger positions for the main chords on and shyly helped her master some of the fingering. And yes, you did momentarily wonder what it would be like to finger her. You were a teenage boy for fuck's sake! She smiled and laughed as much when she screwed up as when she got it right and even Mr Ashcroft remarked "alright you two- play the song or get a room!" Drawing hilarious giggles from the younger kids.
What always gets you when it comes to Lily is that it's so easy to be around one another. There's no pressure and everything feels so comfortable and natural. She was the archetypal girl-next-door except you lived across town and didn't really even meet until that Belgium trip.
After playing through some Fall Out Boy, Feeder and a new one by the Editors, there was 20 minutes to work on new material-
"Hey Sir?" You called.
"Elliott King- glad you're back with us! You have a suggestion?"
"Yes, it's uh... well, listen."
You began strumming the opening bars to 'Every You, Every Me' by Placebo and Lily's eyes lit up. There was a look there that you interpreted as "I fucking love you" but with Lily, it was always hard to tell- it was difficult to hope because the cost if you got it wrong would be too hard to bear.
After teaching the class (and a delighted Lily) the song it was time to wrap up. Maybe it was your new found confidence from the weekend but you decided to take your first real risk.
"Lil?" Where had that nickname come from? "Um, if you wanted in the week- I could help you practise some?"
Your world was on pause as you awaited her reaction. Blessedly it came swiftly. "Sure, I have a Fender acoustic but Dad won't let me bring it into school... You could come by my house tomorrow night?" She said it so easily that your heart soared but afterwards you got down because you wondered if she literally just wanted you to help learn some songs on guitar.
"Great stuff, just text me your address." You smiled as you exchanged numbers, Mr Ashcroft shaking his head.
"Can you two get on please? I want to lock up!"
Best. Guitar. Club. Ever.
An evening at Lily's

How Elliott ended up juggling two girls
You're Elliott King. A popular college student although that popularity is still fairly recent. You were pretty much a nobody until a school trip last year changed things and set you on a path that sees you suddenly making progress with two girls who you think are perfect for you. The problem? You have to choose one or risk having neither.
