Prayer and Plans

Inside, Rabiah felt a wave of relief come over her. She wasn't sure what it was in here, perhaps the number of womans decked out in hijabs and niqabs. Or perhaps the solidarity

"How do you feel?" Aicha inquired, Rabiah's gaze shifting back to her. A smile hung to her face now and her lips looked more like that of a woman than that of a man's.

"Better." Rabiah whispered, the pair making their way to the woman's section of the mosque. Taking a seat, they joined the other women in that section.

Silence followed, the pair taking the time to pray. They listened to the speaker, trying their best to follow. For Rabiah at least, she needed to make up for missing most of her prayers for today.

So Rabiah got a little bit closer. Not enough to suggest she and Aicah were dating, but enough to just feel the warmth of her fellow muslim woman.

Aicha accepted the gesture, letting her hijab meet that of her girlfriend's. The warmth given off felt luxurious, unlike anything she had ever felt before.

Prayers now finished up, the pair exited the mosque.

"How much longer are you here?" Aicha explained, Rabiah digging into her pockets. Out comes what looks to be a ticket. Taking a deep breath, she gazes down to it.

Of course it's for tommorow. Non-refundable to boot.

"Uh..." Rabiah whispered and let her gaze fall to the ground. "Tommorow, my love."

Yet, Aicha let her arms wrap around her girlfriend. She wanted to hold onto her for the rest of time, maybe then she wouldn't have to go. But that wasn't the case.

"Then I'll come find you." Aicha whispered, thoughts filled with just one goal - reuniting with Rabiah. "Do you have a number or email that I can call?"

Rabiah nodded, writing both down.

"This is goodbye then."

With that, the couple parted. But not before letting go and getting engulfed into the crowd.
