The next morning Jon woke up and quickly got dressed. He wanted to be at the mountain as soon as possible, as he wasn't sure how far down the mountain they closed the road for the alleged hill slide. He just stepped out of the house as he could see a young woman walk along the sidewalk. Quickly he recognized Alice, who was living with her parents across the street. She waved at him and walked over to wish him a good morning.

"Thanks, Alice, but no, no work today. I'm heading into the mountains for a small hike. You got some breakfast stuff?"

Alice smiled and then walked across the road towards her parents house. Jon followed her with his eyes and then climbed into his car.

A while later he finally reached the exit leading off the highway and towards the mountain pass road. He drove through a small town at the foot of the mountain. At its end he drove around a first small blockade, informing people about the closure further up the road. Finally, after another ten minutes, he then spotted some a police car standing across the road, which also was blocked off by fences.

"Sorry, Sir," the officer said when Jon stopped his car and stepped out. He looked really bored and took a sip from a cup of coffee. "The mountain pass is closed."

"Can I hike up there?" Jon asked him.

"No, sir," he said. "They say there is a huge danger for another big slide. All the roads and trails up are closed down. But if you want, you can use the lower part of the mountain or drive back to Old Falls, their cable car to Falls Peak is operating this weekend because the reduced possibilities here on the mountain."

Jon nodded and was quite disappointed. He considered sneaking up one of the trails but just he was thinking about it, a ranger with a dog appeared from one a trail leading off the road and walked over to him and the police officer, greeting Jon and the officer. It was clearly that they were patrolling the mountain a lot. Therefore Jon wished both men a good day and turned his car around. He just came around a corner as he could see another car coming towards him. He signalized the car with his lights and both stopped next to each other.

A young woman sat in the other car and gave him a smile. "Can I help you, sir?" she asked.

"No, not really, I just wanted to tell you that you can forget getting up the mountain pass, it is all completely blocked."

"Damn, I really should've waited to long."

"Waited too long?"

"Oh, I'm Yani, I'm working for the City Tribune and I'm sure the thing crashed two days ago was a meteoroid. "

"A meteoroid? Like from space."

She rolled her eyes and nodded. "Yes, from space. I recently saw an article from a scientist who claims that there is some sort of Einstein–Rosen bridge forming in our solar system. I'm going to write about it and make it a big story.

"Well, miss, I think today you are out of luck to get there. They have search hounds and patrolling the forest too."

"Fuck." She said and slammed her wheel.

"Want to make a short break? I have some coffee here."

"Sure, why not," she said and a few minutes later they both leaned against Jon's car and he listened to her talking more about what she had found out. Apparently there had been more impacts recently but none of them as big as that from two days ago. "What did you want up there? Hiking?"

"I actually wanted to check the crash site too. I wonder if it is connected to something happening to me."

"Happening to you?" she asked and looked interesting. "What is happening to you?"

"I could show you if you want."
