You Go To Leave

After a moment of thought you figure you might as well leave now; it's still not that late in the day, and you have camping equipment with you so you can spend the night inside the caves if necessary. You really need to make progress, as you assume that Blue is already inside the mountain, if not at Cerulean City by now.

As you turn to leave, however, Nurse Joy calls out to you. "You're not headed through Mt. Moon, are you?"

You turn back around to face the pink-haired nurse, who has a look of concern etched on her pretty face. "Um... yeah, Cerulean City's where I need to head next on my journey," you reply, confused. Surely everyone who came here was either going to go through Mt. Moon or had just come from there.

"Are you sure you won't stay the night?" asks Joy. "There have been some really shady people going in and out of that place recently. I wouldn't want you to put yourself in danger."

"Shady people?"

Joy nods. "Men dressed all in black, talking to each other secretively." She lowers her voice. "If you ask me, they're connected to Team Rocket..."

You look at her questioningly. "What's Team Rocket?" You'd never heard that term before.

"You haven't seen the news?" she asks. "They're an organised crime group that's been causing chaos in a lot of different parts of the region. The police say that from what they know of them they're mostly men who want to use pokemon as tools to make money and have their way with women."

You frown, not really seeing the big deal here. "So they're just like most male trainers then. Bunch of sexist assholes."

"They're meant to be seriously dangerous, though," says Nurse Joy, "I don't know if it's a good idea for people to go through the caves while they're hanging around the area, especially not a pretty girl like you..."
