A fire is lit

September 30th, 2019 - Phoenix Arizona - Monday Night Raw

The camera turns back to Carmella, lying defeated and forgotten on the floor of the shower area. Her embarrassed expression has turned to one of heartbroken disappointment after watching Sarah Logan carry her former championship out the door.

“Sorry Carmella,” John Cone apologizes. The WWE Officials had been specifically instructed to go along with whatever crazy schemes the stars came up with in order to make the 24/7 Championship Chase more exciting. He’s a professional and counting the crazy pinning situations is never personal.

“‘Mella, you okay?” R-Truth asks as he runs into the locker room to check on his fallen partner.

Classic R-Truth. He’d just been bulldozed by Sarah Logan on her way out of the locker room and he is already back on his feet.

“Classic Truth…” Carmella whispers mostly to herself as she stares up at R-Truth from down on the floor. She’d seen him lose that same championship well over a dozen times. But the reason he was able to regain the title so quickly and so often was because he never stayed down for long. No matter what happened to him - he never let it get him down. That's why Carmella stayed by his side for so long. Most people wrote him off as a crazy whack-a-doodle... and he totally was. But Carmella found his dogged perseverance genuinely inspiring.

The camera zooms in on Carmella’s face and has a perfect close up view as her expression changes and a new fire lights in her eyes.

“Fine,” Carmella snaps as she slaps the tiled floor with her hands and pushes herself back up to her feet. “That’s the way she wants to play it? Then game on!”

Carmella runs out of the locker room still wearing only her fluffy white towel. She is now hell-bent on getting the 24/7 Championship back.

R-Truth goes to follow her but then stops to stare at Carmella’s discarded clothing. He shakes his head and leaves Carmella’s clothes, disguise, and ring gear behind as he runs out of the locker room after her. There’s no way he’s missing what happens next!
