Chapter 36
by brevdravis
An eye for an eye after all.
A little after Two in the Afternoon.
"Are you sure we have everything?" Lauren asked, shoving the blue bag into the back of her vehicle.
"Got the Paintbrushes in the bag, medications, your clothes for Work Tonight are at my place, and did you remember..." Robin began.
"Yes, totally remembered to take the pill." Lauren laughed, "Although, I may just forget the packet here, or tell you I did..."
"After last night, that would NOT be the best joke to pull." Robin laughed. He glanced at Lauren's small house. It wasn't much, and she was spending less and less time here, but they had both agreed it was important for her to have her own space. With all the loud music, vehicle noises and general shouting of random anger, she didn't much like being here either, but you made the best you had with what you had.
"Oh, don't want to think about how dangerous it is..." Lauren began, her face taking on a smirk. "I got you good, by the way. Did you see the one on your shoulder?"
"That wasn't from you." Robin commented, taking a swig from a green water bottle. Gotta remember to hydrate. Admittedly, it was harder to remember to do that when your bedroom activities end up making you sweat as much as when you stumble out of the Dojo. I mean, it's so easy to collapse RIGHT THERE... especially when the beautiful woman you've been with the whole evening cuddles up to you and asks you to tell her again about what the gorgeous little dancer did...
"Not the one on your arm, the one on your neck." Lauren commented.
"Didn't see it." Robin remarked feeling at his skin.
"Oh, it's good." She smiled, leaning into him for a soft kiss. "So... think she wrote back?"
"I'm hoping she did." Robin nodded, pulling open the car door and kicking a piece of trash out of the way. Dammit, time to clean this thing again. That was the problem with having teens, everybody promised to do their chore. Later.
Lauren fired up the engine of the car and backed it out of the small covered space adjacent to her prefabricated house. The Immediate speed bump was annoying, but soon the two of them found themselves on the expressway home.
"Still think they burned the place down?" Lauren asked with a smile.
"Dunno. I figure that since I made dinner, we're fine. Unless Miranda wanted cookies, in which case, all bets are off." Robin smirked.
"Burn baby Burn... Burn Baby Burn..." Lauren sang happily, "Kitchen Inferno!"
Please don't let them have burned the place down...
