What Are They Playing?

Blind Man's Bluff

Lois raised an eyebrow. "That's...kind of a drunk sorority game."

A smile flicked across Blaze's mouth. Little more than a slight bow of the lips.

"I prefer to think of it as a game of...courage," she finished shuffling the cards. "One card, which you can't see, but your opponent can. Betting blind...I'm willing to take that risk. Are you?"

The reporter set her jaw. "Deal."

One card flicked out in front of Lois, face down. Blaze took the next card off the deck and raised it to her forehead. The reporter closed her eyes and picked up her own card, holding the thin rectangle to her own forehead.

And opened her eyes.

Lois: ?

Blaze: 3♠

The demon looked ridiculous, holding her card against her forehead, the black three plastered between her horns. Lois resisted a smile. It was a low card, but there was no reason to think that she herself might not be holding a three or a deuce against her own forehead...though the odds were against that. In fact, the odds were that she should bet big.

But that was the danger of the game, Lois knew. Betting blind, and all that she was betting was exactly what Blaze wanted her to bet. Even if Lois won, they'd be locked in this game until somebody won or lost it all...

The reporter slid one of the chips representing her precious eggs forward.

"Bet."

The demon's face was a perfect poker mask...but Lois could see the bob of her erect cock, hovering just above the edge of the table. Like the blowhole of a little red whale against the green felt, coming up for air...and misgivings ate at her gut. Whatever she had plastered against her forehead, it was causing Blaze to get excited.

"Call." The demon tossed a golden chip in the center. "Let's see who won."
