Pretend not to recognize her

You decide to play it cool and pretend not to recognize her. "Hey, good run?" you ask as you approach LA.

"Hi there! Yeah, just ran the length of the beach and back. I love running on the sand and the weather is perfect for it," LA responds. She seems like a friendly and pleasant person.

You go up to the wall, leaving a respectful distance between you and LA and ask, "Mind if I join you and sit down here? Thought this might be the perfect spot to just hang out and I didn't see you here. I can go somewhere else if it bothers you."

LA smiles and pats the sand beside her. "Of course not! It's the beach. It's for everybody. Plus I like meeting new people. I'm LA," she says, shaking your hand as you sit down beside her.

"John."

"So John, just out for a stroll on the beach?"

"Yeah, I thought it would be good for my body. I, uh, I just got out of a coma not long ago," you say.

"Oh my god. Wow. That's amazing. I'm so happy for you!" LA responds. She really does seem nice and you start to chat with her about the beach and the weather, talking about a bunch of thing you missed doing while you were in a coma while she talks about her work as a physical therapist, even offering to help you.
