Chapter 41 by ThomasMoro ThomasMoro

Now what? And more importantly, what happens next?

Future Clara gets thrown for a loop

Present Clara did a double take at the scene before her and then turned toward the dark phantom beside her who called himself the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come.

"Surely it doesn't end there?" she asked. "Surely this proves to be the one time that I actually outsmart Missy and use her to help defeat this mysterious lady in red, right?"

The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come said nothing while a naked Rose Tyler just turned her head and covered her mouth as if to extinguish the sounds of -- wait -- was she laughing?

"Well, show me what happens, regardless," said present Clara.

The scene before her shifted and then suddenly she saw herself in an old-fashioned kitchen talking to Missy. Of course, Missy was fully clothed and future Clara was still naked for some reason.

That didn't surprise future Clara all that much. Missy had always been very much into the CFNF thing -- though, of course, Missy was never the NF -- and as much as future Clara hated to admit it, she learned everything she knew about being a domme from watching Missy.

"So you say this person you speak of broke into your TARDIS and stole your magic typewriter?" asked Missy.

"Well, actually she didn't really break in as far as I could tell," said future Clara. "She just kinda got in."

"You mean she sneaked in through the keyhole?" asked Missy with a raised eyebrow.

"No, my TARDIS doesn't have any key -- Oh, I see what you did," said future Clara. "No, I think she got this friend she called Marcie to sneak in and let her in."

"I see," said Missy. "And you and Rose never saw this Marcie, I take it?"

"No," said future Clara. "We never did. I guess she snuck in at night."

"Or perhaps she was invisible," said Missy.

"Don't be ridiculous," said future Clara. "There's no such thing as an invisible girl."

"And some people would say there's no such thing as a magic typewriter," said Missy. "And that time machines are impossible. But you and I know differently, right?"

"Er, right," said future Clara. "So you really do believe me about the magic typewriter?"

"I believe that you believe it," said Missy. "But that's not the important thing. If what you're saying is true, then we have to move fast. I suspect that the person we're dealing with isn't quite sane, and more importantly, I have reason to suspect that she's not human. Normally I would consider the latter a good thing -- considering how gullible you humans are -- but still if she was smart enough to outfox a person like you who owns a magic typewriter, she doesn't seem like the type of adversary one should underestimate."

"Oh, good," said future Clara. "Then you will help me take back my TARDIS?"

"Of course I will, provided I can get a chance to take a look at this typewriter of yours," said Missy.

Future Clara had no intention of letting that happen but instead of saying that, she just smiled and said, "Of course."

"However, I must warn you about one problem in particular," said Missy.

"What's that?" asked future Clara.

"However, I must warn you about one problem in particular," said Missy.

"What's that?" asked future Clara.

"However, I must warn you about one problem in particular," said Missy.

"What's that?" asked future Clara.

"However, I must warn you about one problem in particular," said Missy.

"What's that?" asked future Clara.

"However, I must warn you about one problem in particular," said Missy...

And just like that, things get complicated. What happens next?
