Chapter 29

What vampire have in store for party?
Even the odds a little.
The party of six continued on the path to the gates of the dwarf city, staying as quiet as they could, as they did not want to draw more attention.
The city gates, dozens of feet tall and made from solid steel with golden inlays, lay open and abandoned, telling of a time when the dwarves here were rich and prosperous. All but Q’rin marvelled at the dwarven craftsmanship as they passed them by.
Entering the deserted ruins, they could not shake the feeling that they were being watched by someone. They kept looking behind themselves, as if there was something shadowing them.
The tomb of the dwarf lord was standing imposingly in the centre of the city, the biggest structure by far with some rubble from hastily demolished buildings surrounding it.
Q’rin turned to the others, ‘That’s the one, looks like they flattened half the city to build that thing.’
They approached the tomb, the gates holding it shut only slightly less impressive than the gates to the city itself.
Ariane stepped up to the front, ‘Looks like it is still undisturbed, how are we going to get in?’
‘Do you really think I would come here without a way in?’ Q’rin chuckled and retrieved a key from his pack. He approached the gate and inserted the key. With a click, the mechanism unlocked. ‘There. Sir Otto, give me a hand with this,’ Q’rin commanded.
The knight came to task quickly, pulling the gates open with a loud shrieking noise from the hinges.
‘Keep it down, you want everyone to know we are here?’ Khala said.
‘You got a bottle of oil on you to grease the hinges? Didn’t think so,’ Q’rin chuckled.
They opened the gates enough for one person to go through, and the dark elf was the first. He looked around and found the place to be deserted, as expected, and let the others in.
The corridors of the tomb were like an intricate maze, with branching paths and many chambers.
Spotting something on a wall, Q’rin approached it, ‘This wall is different, hmm.’
Ariane joined him, ‘Different how? It’s not an illusion, I can tell that much.’
‘There’s a seam on the edge,’ Q’rin pointed out, ‘Maybe there was a corridor here and the wall was filled in.’
That’s when Ariane took a step closer and trigger a pad on the floor. The wall wheezed into action and rotated around it’s centre. Q’rin and Ariane were caught by surprise and soon stood alone on the other side.
‘Damn it, what the hells?’ Ariane said. ‘Can you hear me there?’
‘We hear you, are you alright?’ Mira called through the wall.
‘We are fine,’ Ariane answered, ‘Can you rotate this thing again.’
They tried their best to find the switch again, with no luck. And the subsequent use of brute **** on the wall did not help either.
‘It’s no use. Forget it, continue on your side, we will on ours,’ Q’rin made the decision to split up.
‘Oh, great. Now I’m stuck with you,’ Ariane sighed.
‘I don’t welcome this development either, believe me, but moaning about it won’t help us to get it over with quickly. Come on,’ Q’rin said and continued down the way they were **** onto.
On the other side of the wall, Khala sighed, ‘Nice, our guide is gone. Let’s do this the old fashioned way then. Stick to a wall and follow it.’
‘Good idea, let’s follow the left wall,’ Sir Otto said.
‘I’ll take the lead then, I have the best eyes and ears,’ Khala smiled, ‘No offence, Lex.’
‘None taken,’ the half-elf chuckled.
‘Right, on we go. I’m beginning to regret taking on this mission,’ Mira sighed and Khala started to follow the wall down the corridor.
...
‘Good the first pair is separated, would be easier if they were alone but we can work on that,’ the vampire chuckled as she watched the strangers in her mirror.
The vampiress had found some time to dress: A white shirt with an open collar and a corset, that made her ample bust spill out, adorned her torso. Her legs were clad in tight black leather pants, hugging every curve of her bum and thighs.
She looked at her mirror with a smirk on her ruby red lips, ‘Hmm, I can barely decide who to enjoy first.’
One group into two. What would they find on their hunt in the dark?
