Cinnabar Volcano

"You cowards! I should have drowned the lot of you back in Pallet Town!" You scream at the trio of swimmers. "Honestly! All the women you terrorized and you're afraid to set foot in a volcano?"

Five days you travelled with these guys and after all that bravado and machismo they nearly piss themselves at the thought of going into the volcano. It's so frusturating, you were starting to grow attached. Well, there is only one thing to do. "Bulbasaur. Release them." You call to your ever present companion.

"Bulba-saur!" With a simple flick of a vine, the Leech Seed that had been embedded in their necks are expelled and shrivel up on the ground and die.

After some brief goodbyes, and warning them about treating women improperly, you watch them ride off on their Pokemon. Really! How are you going to travel across the sea now? You had been using their Pokemon for travel. Well, one hurdle at a time. For now, you've got a volcano to explore.

Hot. That is the best way to describe the interior of the volcano. Stiflingly so. Even Bulbasaur looks faint in the heat, and you're pretty sure he's a tropical Pokemon. After ten minutes you're ready to take a break, so you take a seat on a rock. Only the rock starts moving!

"Rhyyyy!" Screeches the pile of rocks as you Bulbasaur leap away. That's no rock pile. That's a Pokemon.

"Oh! A Rhyhorn! Bulbasaur, use Sleep Powder!" You call out to your leafy friend. Rhyhorns are sturdy and powerful. When it charges it can even flip cars. So you'd rather avoid a fight if at all possible. Thankfully, the Sleep Powder sends it right back to sleep and you are able to capture it.

Shuffling your active Pokemon around, you put Krabby and Staryu in your box and keep Shellder and Rhyhorn on you. Shellder's ability to desalinate water is incredibly useful, and Rhyhorn is a useful Pokemon in most situations.

After a bit more rest, you let Rhyhorn out of her Pokeball and ride atop her back along with Bulbasaur. As she marches along you make sure to give her plenty of affectionate head pats and encouragement.

Eventually, you find yourself looking out over a great big flow of lava. Sheesh. You've never felt so hot in your entire life. There are Slugma and Magcargo lounging around near the flow, just relaxing. You manage to pick one of the Slugma off with a Pokeball, and swap it out for Tangela. Finally a fire Pokemon. Now you can leave this ungodly place of sweltering heat and the stench of sulfur.
