Great forest

"So that's why I think Verians are more intelligent than Thessians, there is just no way Thessians could coordinate like the Varians do to build their nest. I mean technically they could but their ... HEY! are you listening to me, John?" Link exclaimed seeing that his companion was clearly distracted. Now that he's paying attention it looks like both John and Mawsie focusing their attention deep into the forest.

" Run Link" whispered John narrowing his eyes.

"What?" Asked Link not sure if he had heard correctly.

"RUN!" Yelled John suddenly jumping in front of the young elf. Link was taken aback by the outburst when he heard a whistling and two 'thud' like impacting sounds.

Link was about to ask what the hell was going on when he saw John turn toward him, what he saw froze him in place. Arrows were sticking out of the prince's left shoulder and right flank but what captured his eyes was John's face. Fury was the only way Link could describe John's current expression, but the chill he felt when felling those blood redded eyes stare into his soul was what kept him from moving.

" WHAT ARE YOU DOING MY LITTLE FRIEND, GO! RUN!" Urged the awaken incubus putting every ounce of command he could toward the frozen elf in hope to incite a reaction. Link finally reacted and bolted toward a denser part of the forest, the young elf didn't know why, but he felt like his body was answering the order on its own. Soon he realized he wasn't the only one running, Mawsie had just overtaken him and running like her life was depending on it.

Link and Mawsie didn't stop running until the small leg supporting the elf couldn't take it anymore. Link collapsed on his knees and panted heavily trying to regain his breath, his entire body was shaking with adrenalin and he could feel the muscles in his legs cramp in pain. Mawsie was pacing back and forward letting distressed noises looking toward where they came from, it was clear the animal body had reacted in a similar way his own had to the commanding voice of their friend.

'What do we do now? Damn it, why the hell John didn't follow us, and what the hell was happening with his eyes.' Link mind raced trying to make sense of the event.

" Fucking hero, you're going to get us killed with that 'protecting my friend' attitude." Rambled the incubus.

" I WILL GIVE YOU ONE CHANCE TO COME OUT AND TELL ME WHICH ONE OF YOU THREE DARE INJURE ME!" Raged the clearly furious demon.

' How the fuck did he found all of us so quickly.' Thought a shadow while trying to shake the sense of doom at the sight of this man ripping the arrows from his flesh like they were mere inconveniences.

" FINE, IF THIS IS HOW YOU WANT TO PLAY THEN LETS PLAY!" The shadows heard him say before disappearing right in front of their eyes.

Mira couldn't find where their target had gone when she heard two consecutive thuds and crash behind her, the trained archer turned around fast and cocked an arrow but the only thing she saw was a blur and her two team members collapsing on the forest floor. She frantically searched the woods for any sign of movement or sounds that didn't belong but before she could find any the hairs of her neck straightened in alarm. The veteran archer could feel his breath on her ear when he spoke.

"Tell me, little hunter, who's the prey now?" The incubus taunted while running a dagger along his prey exposed back, the shiver and scent of fear bringing a small smile to his face.

"Pl ... please don't kill me" Pleaded the hunter dropping of her bow and bringing her hands up.

"Why not? You didn't seem to have a problem killing my friend, let me guess, you thought the mage was the greater threat." Said the incubus while dragging his dagger lower until it was at the base of her spine.

" Please I was just defending my village, my team is responsible for this portion of the perimeter. I was just doing my job ... please ... I ... I don't want to die." Begged the assailant pathetically.

" I don't know, I already gave you and your friends more consideration than you did for us. Tell me, what are you ready to do for your life?" Questioned the incubus licking his lips lewdly.....
