Your nimble fingers grab the pendant as it was still in mid air, and when again you look at Sir Lawrence you remember him. A bit of a jerk, always so cocky about his natural talent and birthright, but he was also kind and funny, righteous and self sacrificing. You remember that time when a kitty under your care got sick and died, he was the only one who understood your hurt, and was there to lend you a shoulder to cry on. You remember the time when he lost a joust against Sir Arwyn, when you were finally able to repay his kindness with your own support. Seeing him sad wasn't right. His smile made the world better. You loved seeing that smile.

And he was smiling at you now.

You look at the pendant and see your face next to him. It was during a spring festival, when he wasnt wearing that stupid armor, and you taught him how to dance. He is so bad at it, but he never stops trying when it is to be with you.

"Werent you going to give me back my pendant?" were you? if he says so, you nod and give it to him. His gauntlet doesn't cover his palm, and his hand feels warm. Humid and warm "Good..."

"Yuliana Moonwhisper" You volunteer. You don't really know why you think he could have forgotten your name, he loves you. Even if he does flirt around. Even if he flirts around a lot. Like that tramp red head adventurer, or that brazen Lady Knight. Boys will be boys you think.

"Moonwhisper? like the Bard?" he asks with a certain sense of amusement. You shrug. "Now... do you remember our plan Yuliana?" you didnt, and shake your head. "We will become heroes. Your father will sing about us, and all your brothers and sisters. Legends."

"Like Tristan and Isolde?" you ask, but he doesnt seem to understand the reference. Why did you say that? Bring up a real world reference?

"As I was saying. We just need a great task to complete. And that is where our little friends here, and Horghar come along. They are the threat, destroying farmsteads, killing men and ravaging the women." Seeing your reaction "Not you, my dear. They of course will kidnap the damsel of the legend, but you will remain pure." he winks "But they will hold you hostage. Perhaps they assumed you are a princess. Well, they KNEW you are a princess" another wink. "So that when I finally save you, we can be together."

You feel a hush of excitement as he places a hand around you, and let it rest on your lower back. "Are you scared?" you nod. "Dont be. Everything will be fine. Our plan is perfect. And it will be worth it when we are together." You feel warmth spreading from his touch, and the many wounds you receive start to close.

Above him, over the trees, you see Elska, the raven. It caws, and when it does you feel a little more like yourself. Even if your heart is racing, if you have butterflies in your bely, your lips are trembling, and that handsome knave is leaning down to kiss you!!!
