The aftermath.

The world before him was strange, a place of pitch-black darkness…

“Déjà vu?” Random awoke in an all too familiar place. He found himself on his back staring up at the same darkness that he countered last time. The only source of light emitting from the red serpent that coiled and wrapped around his body. The Snake’s body tightened around her catch, trapping its prey. Maybe it was the lack of oxygen going to his brain but an odd sensation ran through his body. The red serpent’s glow felt warm to the touch and calmed his beating heart.

But like most good things this was fleeting as Random’s attention fell upon a second light. Far in the distance, a haunting blue light pulsed, cleaving through the darkness. The closer the light crept towards the boy the more the serpent’s body tighten around him.

“You’re awfully protective.” A voice called from the void but the red serpent replied with a bitter hiss. The threating sound didn’t halt the light's approach before Random could make out what was creating it.

He should have guessed. The threating light came from a second serpent, sapphire was its scales. Its jaw sprang open as it lashed out.

A sharp pull attacked Random. He broke from his dream and awoke in his bed. Drenched in sweat and panting uncontrollably. The boy held his head, picturing that monster’s fangs before he let out a muffled scream. “What the hell is your problem?”

“Crimson…?!” He struggled the demon’s name as he searched for her.

“Wait, I don’t care.” Again with that cold tone, she was sat on the bedroom floor; book in hand with her back facing him. A towel clung to her petite body, masking their actions from last night; her crimson hair soaked from a recent shower, the drops of water trailing down her locks to the floor.

The young man paused at her reply and rushed a hand through his hair before slumping back into his bed. He could barely believe it as he began laughing.

“You’re such a cold-hearted bitch.” Random slipped from his bed and placed a hand the girl’s head, while she read. “I kinda like that about you.” The smile didn’t leave his face, even after he caught himself in the mirror. Random entire body had been littered scars, from faded scratches to deep bite marks. The memories of last night came flooding back. After the anti-climax from the human, the demon was far from done with him. The pair had fucked the entire night away, literally.

The result being one trashed room, and a loss on what he would tell his mother. “So want to talk about last night?”

“What’s there to talk about?” She said plainly as she turned the page.

“What?! Do I have to spell it out?” He was taken back by her passive attitude.

“That we fucked?” Even dirtier coming from someone who looked so innocent. “D’aww he wants my approval fucking adorable like a puppy.”

Random smiled. “Look I know you’re mocking me but I’m in a way too good a mood to let it bother me.”

“Course you feel that way. You’re a loser who’d never gotten laid before, now go take a shower you reek.” The imaginary glass of the boy’s ego had been smashed. Random scoffed and left his room with a loud bang of the door while a smile crept on the girl’s lips who watch the markings on the boy’s back slowly fade.

“Puppy! I wasn’t the one quivering like one last night!” He thought he’d sound smart, reliving the mental image of the demon laid under him.

“I’ve never settled for mediocrity as an acceptable standard, and neither should you.”

“What does that hell does that mean?! Mediocre? And I don’t reek!” Their back and forth was on the edge of childish even to the point Random was second-guessing himself and gave himself a stiff.
