Chapter 7

Alright, you need a new plan. What is it going to be?
Explore the woods
You have few options, but you quickly summarize this is the kind of game that you level up by practicing skills. This means that even if you don't have wilderness skills, you can still expect to level them if you decide to brave the woods.
Better that than returning to a pillaged village.
You tread carefully, mindful to avoid making unnecessary noises. You hear birds chirping and the noises of wild animals, a sure sign there aren't humanoids close by. You relax a bit, but there is still something in the air that keeps you from fully relaxing. Something coppery, heavy, putrid. You follow the trail.
Congratulations! You gained level 1 in Notice. you are now unskilled in Notice.
Congratulations! You gained level 1 in Survival. You are now unskilled in Survival.
Blood. It was blood. You find the remains of a skirmish. 2 dwarves and an elf fought goblins, and lost. At least they claimed 3 of the small humanoids, but did it matter for the fallen? You approach cautiously.
The fight wasn't recent. Most of the blood had dried away, and wild beasts had already visited them a few times. Probably the goblins themselves had taken most of their equipment. A raven is perched on a dwarf's skull, it stares at you as you come closer.
The only weapon is a blade lodged in one of the fallen goblins. Perhaps after the fight it was truly stuck there, but now it is a bit loose. You give it a sharp pull and set it free. The blade is dirty, but it is clearly well balanced.
You have found: Short Sword. Damage: 3-6. Reach: Short. Attack Speed: Fast. Rarity: Common. Item Quality: Superior.
The first dwarf was a warrior of some kind. He no longer had his arms or armor, but he had that bulky fitness that betrayed martial prowess. His beard wasn't very thick, perhaps this meant he was a young one. The only thing he had was his worn boots, but they are too large for you.
Or are they?
You remove them, fighting the revolting smell that surfaces. You hit them together a few times, and try not to think about the dark chunk of something that falls. When you try them on they change, to fit your feet. They still look like old worn boots, but they are comfortable.
You have found: Worn Boots. Armor Type: Light Armor. Average Protection: 2. Encumbrance: Slight. Rarity: Common. Item Quality:Poor.
The second dwarf had seven arrows lodged in his chest, piercing a ruined set of leather armor. Next to him there was a broken crossbow. If he had a side weapon, it was nowhere to be seen. You hold the crossbow for a few moments, but all you get is it is junk. The raven caws and flaps its wing, warning against messing with his lunch. You aren't sure you could take the puny bird with your stats.
"Take it easy pal. I am not here to steal your food. I am your friend" you speak soothingly and the bird calms down, almost magically.
Surrender used successfully. Critical success. Raven Elska went from hostile to friendly.
What the fuck? Did I just waste a good roll on a freaking bird? It flaps its wings and fly away. And with that you finally turn to face the elf.
You hoped you could see a massive wound on her, that she had a quick ****,but you didn't. She was no taller than you. The same slim build. You crouch next to her, trying to offer some comfort she couldn't get. Your fingers brush on something metallic in her hair. You find a locket. You can't recognize her in the elven beauty in the picture, and wonder who is the handsome human knight there.
_Damn, this game is fucking dark. _You think as you brush your tears.
You have found: Locket memento. Rarity: Unique. Item Quality: Magical.
You look up as you hear again the sound of flapping wings, just in time to catch a falling necklace. You look at what the raven brought you, it is a silver chain with a tiny statue of a dancing woman, she seems to be wearing a feather cloak. It caws again, landing nearby.
You have found: Holy Symbol. Rarity: Uncommon. Item Quality: Superior.
There is more to this mess. Tossed cans, scraps, broken shafts. You assume the goblins rummaged through the packs of the adventurers. You see a flimsy piece of silk, long enough to be a short skirt, and another cheer material, enough for a shirt. Even if it will still keep you looking like a MMORPG eye candy, it is better than your current state of undress.
You have found: Revealing Acolyte Robes. Armor Type: Exotic. Average Protection: Attractiveness. Encumbrance: Slight. Rarity: Common. Item Quality: Above Average.
UNDERCOVER: You are disguised as a priestess. You have 30% affinity bonus with all religious skills. You have a 10% chance of angering a deity if you commit sacrilege.
Practice makes right. You think, but as your sight move to the fallen heroes, the sadness in your chest feel genuine. You close your eyes and pray for their souls, even if these souls are just 3D animations. You feel raindrops on your cheeks as you continue to pray, and only stop when the precipitation ends.
Congratulations! You gained levels 1 through 5 in Religion. you are now a Novice in Religion. You recover concentration 5% faster while praying.
Congratualtions! You earned Level 1 in Animamancy. You are now unskilled in Animamancy
Congratulations! You learnt the spell Last Rites. Corpses you veil won't return as undead.
For veiling Dafnor, Hargor e Yaldin Sunchild you gain 500xp.
Relationship with Raven Elska improved from friendly to trusted. You gain 500xp.
Congratulations! You have advanced to level 2
As a High elf, you have three Attribute points to distribute and your Agility, Sense, Intuition and Attractiveness improve by one. For reaching rank 2 without being defiled you earn the trait CHERRY. Allocate these points within 72 hours or they will be randomly assigned. Yours is a path of Legend, you are here to please the audience.
CHERRY: As a virgin you didn't have a man yet. Whoever claims this honor will receive a permanent luck boost equal to your attractiveness score.
You groan at the useless trait, and move your attention elsewhere.
How will you allocate these points?
