Chapter 10 by Gentlemen8p Gentlemen8p

What's next?

Fight.

Random sat there, desperately trying to fight the pain with what tears he had left but as he breathes his last breath, Flames erupted from the ground, pockets of lava spilled out onto the concrete followed by a deformed human hand, then another and another. The legion of ash coated corpses sprang from the pits with only one pursuit.

“No! Not yet!” Random fought like a wild animal caught in a snare, ripping at the endless horde of hands, trying to drag him down with them.

“No! … Don’t fucking die you bastard, don’t fucking die!” Random heard a muffled voice and from under the oceans of corpses, he came up for air and the vision of hell disappearing with it.

Fading in and out of unconsciousness. Crimson shouted over him, her hand over his stomach, the boy looking at his own, it had healed.

“The hell…?” He croaked before seeing the mysterious girl charging straight for them. “Hey look out!”

Crimson noticed and caught the blade in both of her hands. Two fresh wounds appeared on Random's hands.

Crimson screamed in agony, her flesh melted at the steel’s touch, the stench of burning flesh making the only human in this fight gag. “A holy relic? You cheating bitch!” The girl remained silent at her foes insults.

"This is madness! How on earth is this happening? My wounds this abnormal healing? A by-product of our deal perhaps? No, questions later Random, think first and make yourself useful, you owe her that at least."

Random kicked a loose brick from the wall, he laid against. Like stitches the boy’s healing flesh ripped apart, every time he moved but somehow he got to his feet and tossed the brick towards their attacker, knocking the sword free from her iron grasp.

To say Crimson was upset would understatement as her hand morphed into a demonic claw and the air around it radiated with heat before combusting into flames. Crimson used this hidden power to cast a fireball into the girl's waist, leaving a good-sized hole which of course begun to heal. Crimson remind in front of Random, blocking the girl from his position.

The boy watched the strange women's waist heal far quicker than Crimson's healing abilities and downright making his look pathetic. "She's just like..."

Before he could finish that thought Crimson interloped. "Don't compare me to her! Pay attention! You were lucky with that throw, perhaps given us a fighting chance, but don't allow her to reach that sword!"

Not fully healed, Random stumbled to the sword, picking it up and used it as a clutch. The duo had their attacker cornered; whose eyes never left the boy. She spoke again in a surprised tone. “You’re Human?” As her gaze looked straight at the young man’s hands on her sword.

Eyes glowing wildly Crimson laughed. “Of course he's human, why are the pretty ones always so dumb?” The girl looked back at his demon friend, angered by the comment.

"No that's not possible. A demon and a human? The world doesn't work like that..." The stranger continued to look at the boy and bit her lip, she peered into him before grasping a hold of the manhole cover under her feet, launching it in Crimson's direction in one swift motion and made her escape.

To say Crimson was pissed would again be the understatement of the century, as she let out a loud demon roar setting off several car alarms. Random fell onto his back, the sword falling next to them. “Is it me or was she checking me out?” He coughed trying to talk the adrenaline getting to his head.

“I think it was the other way around idiot.” she knelt next to him avoiding the sword as if it was radioactive.

It became easier to speak with each passing second. “Ha, what can I say she'd bigger tits than you.”

Crimson face said she wanted to cave his head in but she tried to remind calm. “Cracking jokes, just reinforcing the fact that you almost pissed yourself.” The girl paused. “Are you ok?”

“Concern from a demon? I must have really died…” The boy looked to his hand then at Crimson’s wounds. They’ve both healing at the same time. “Now that's freaky let me guess it's a soul thing?”

“Yep, benefits of being my bitch!” For one reason or the other she helped him up in exchange placing the sword back into its sheath making Crimson feel more relieved.

Back home it was a small miracle that his mother wasn't back yet. It was difficult enough not to get caught with our bloody torn clothes let alone needing to explain it. “Hmm, where’s Mummy?”

He cringed. “Please don’t call her that and work I guess? Listen Crimson we need to talk about what just happened.”

“Oh well, at least I get to finish that shower from this morning.” Crimson completely ignored him and slowly begun to remove her clothes.

"There she goes avoiding the subject again, it's like she doesn't care. Oh, I forget she doesn't."

Today’s event may have been normal for the ‘Snake’ but the young man’s heart was beating uncontrollably. He gripped the sheathed sword tightly. “I’ve never been in so much pain, I’ve never been so afraid and I’ve never felt… So alive!”

The sword fell from his grasp. Adrenaline rushed through his body. “I can’t believe I almost died a virgin.”

“You know I can hear you right?” After her skirt fell to her ankles she turned to the boy, annoyed by his bickering inside his noggin. Her eyes filled with shock and surprise overcame her body as he pushed her small frame against the door, holding her in place.

The boy took a hold of the thin school shirt; she wore and ripped it open. The bottoms scattered across the floor revealing her small chest in the flesh. He looked up to her face she wasn’t just surprised but afraid a demon was afraid of a human.

Random's moral compass was spinning in many directions and he didn’t know which way to follow.

Which direction will he follow?
