Nothing!

“Well, as much as I’d love to, I can’t. It’s a rule that if you lose your suit to the lake, you have to go back completely naked. Not an official rule by any means, but one we enforce.” Laura’s dad said, shaking his head with a smile.

Anna looked up at him, then towards Laura. She shrugged her shoulders. “Sorry, but rules are rules.” She said, stifling a laugh.

“There’s no way that’s true! If it were, I’m sure I’d have heard some stories by now!” Anna said defiantly, an angry scowl upon her face.

“It’s true! It doesn’t happen all that often though, and never when a bunch of family are around. Most of the time you can just sneak in Grandma’s back door, and get dressed without anyone noticing you. Speaking from experience.” Laura’s dad said, offended at being accused as a liar. Laura nodded in agreement. “Even I’ve lost a top or two to the lake. It’s not that big of a deal, maybe just a little embarrassing.”

Anna blinked a few times, shocked at what she was hearing. “You can’t expect me to go back like this! I’m completely naked, and the whole family is here! I’ll never live this down.”

Laura looked down apologetically towards Anna. “I’m really sorry for making you go tubing. If it makes you feel any better, over half the family is gone now anyway.”

Anna looked to the dock, and noticed the crowd had gone down from around thirty, to a little over ten.

Anna nervously looked back and forth between the dock, and the boat, and the spot she had lost her suit. “...I...There’s no way. This can’t be happening to me.” She thought with shock. “Am I really going to have to expose myself in front of my family? They’ll never let me live this down! I’ll go down in family history as ‘The Girl Who Lost Her Swimsuit in the Lake.’ Not to mention the mortifying walk to the door, completely naked! Is there anything I can do?” Anna thought, desperately searching for a way to avoid her fate.
