Admit the Truth

The boat’s motor slowed to a stop, Anna nervously creeping to the side.

“You alright?” Her cousin Laura asked, extending a hand towards Anna.

“Yeah, just a little shook up.” Anna said, a small, awkward grin coming to her face as she averted her gaze. She retreated further into the water as Laura extended her hand in an offer to come aboard.

“What’s wrong?” Laura asked, concerned. Her floral bikini’s strings danced in the wind, alongside her long brown hair. She looked closer at the water, and smiled wide.

“Oh my god! You lost your suit didn’t you?” She said with a laugh.

“...yeah. Do you have a towel or something?” Anna asked, the red blush on her face deepening to a strawberry color. She nervously crossed a spare arm across the top portion of her chest, attempting to hide it from plain view.

Laura motioned to her dad, who was behind the wheel of the boat. “Dad come over here!” She said with a light giggle.

“What do you want?” He said with a sigh, as he approached the side of the boat. He peered over the side to find a bare shouldered Anna awkwardly smiling up at him with an extremely red face. He laughed heartily.

“Well, it happens to the best of us.” He said, wiping a tear.

Anna, now more annoyed than embarrassed, asked “Could I please have a towel or something?”
