Justice demon -- er -- justice demons vs. witch, round whatever

"So apparently what Giles wanted to say was that pissed-off justice demons sometimes come back when you try to wish them away and often they bring reinforcements," said Xander as he stared at the two justice demons who had just entered the room -- one of whom called herself Halfrek and the other of whom was a Justice Demon version of Amy Madison. "At least that's my guess."

"Who cares if she brought another justice -- er -- vengeance demon with her?" asked Catherine. "Even if it is really my own daughter from another timeline, she still has the same weakness. Which reminds me -- I wish that --"

Justice demon Amy interrupted her mother and said, "Hold that thought, Mom."

And with that, she made a magical gesture with her hand.

Immediately, Catherine Madison found herself unable to speak. The harder and harder she tried, the more Justice Demon Amy smiled.

"Not so fun when you're the one whose body is being controlled by another person, is it, Mom?" she asked with a smirk. "And if you can't say your wish, then neither Halfrek nor I can grant it."

"Oh, Amy," said Halfrek. "Please don't gloat. It's not very ladylike."

"Sorry," said Justice Demon Amy.

But she still smirked.

"How did you do that?" asked future Amy.

"You mean you haven't learned how to do that yet?" asked Justice Demon Amy.

"No," said future Amy. "And how did you manage to retain your witch abilities when you became a vengea -- er -- justice demon?"

"Heck, one of the reasons I was recruited as a justice demon was because of my witch abilities," said Justice Demon Amy. "Though quite frankly, I've always preferred the term 'Vengeance Angel'."

"Seriously?" asked Willow.

"Sure," said Justice Demon Amy. "In my world, that's what we call ourselves -- Vengeance Angels."

"But why?" asked Willow.

"Well, think about it," said Justice Demon Amy. "According to the Bible -- my world's version, anyway -- God sent an angel to kill the firstborn of Egypt and another angel to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. In my profession, we have a word for beings like that."

"What's that?" asked Willow.

"Amateurs," said Justice Demon Amy. "But seriously, being a Vengeance Angel is cool. You might want to try it some day."

And with that, Justice Demon Amy gave a pointed look at both future Amy and present Amy.

"No, thanks, I'm good," said present Amy.

"No, thanks, I'm very good," said future Amy.

"Oh, you'll change your mind some day," said Justice Demon Amy.

Then she turned toward Willow. "How about you, Willow?" Justice Demon Amy asked. "After all, you're part of the reason I chose this path."

"Er, what did I do?" asked Willow.

But before Justice Demon Amy could answer, Jonathan -- of all people -- said, "Excuse me, but aren't we forgetting something?"

"Oh, you mean Mom?" asked Justice Demon Amy. "Okay, what do you want to do with her?"

"Send her away and make sure she never comes back," said Jonathan.

"You know you have to say that in the form of a wish, right?" asked Justice Demon Amy.

"Okay," said Jonathan.

"And the more wishes you make, the bigger the karmic debt you owe," said Justice Demon Amy.

"Really?" asked Jonathan.

"Yes, really," said Justice Demon Amy. "So your wish had better be worth it."

Jonathan gulped.

"Okay," he said. "I wish that your mother the witch would go back to wherever she came from and never bother anyone in this room again."

"Wish granted," said Justice Demon Amy.

And just like that, Catherine Madison vanished into thin air.

"Shouldn't you have removed the mute spell first?" asked Willow.

"Oh, she'll figure it out," said Justice Demon Amy. "Any more wishes, Jonathan?"

"Of course, he has," said Halfrek. "He has to restore Anya to us."

"Actually I was hoping you'd do something about Kennedy," said Jonathan, pointing to the mute girl who had been waiting patiently by future Amy's side.

"Hmm," said Justice Demon Amy. "Kennedy. Kennedy. Kennedy. I know that name."

She reached beneath the neckline of her dress and pulled out a piece of paper.

"Here it is," said Justice Demon Amy. "It's right on my list of things to do today between getting my nails done and de-rabbiting Anya."

Justice Demon Amy looked up before she continued. "Apparently I'm supposed to kill her."
