Confrontation

"My God, Buffy!" exclaimed Willow. "Whatever happened to you? And why are you naked?"

"I don't know, Willow," said Buffy. still hiding behind a stack of books. "It just suddenly happened. One minute I was wearing clothes and the next they were gone."

Then she looked around the library for a moment.

"Wait a minute," said Buffy. "Why are there three Amy Madisons in this library?"

Willow started to say something but the blonde Amy in the cheerleader uniform interrupted. "Because one of them is your arch-nemesis."

"Really?" asked Buffy. "Which one?"

"Which one?" asked the blonde cheerleader with a puzzled expression on her face.

"Is it you?" asked Buffy, pointing to present Amy. "Because I'm pretty sure we were friends. At least we used to be. Well, actually you're more Willow's friend than mine, but sti --"

"No, it isn't her!" screamed the blonde cheerleader.

"Her?" asked Buffy, pointing to future Amy.

"No, it isn't her either," said the blonde cheerleader with an air of exasperation.

Buffy pointed to the blonde cheerleader and said, "Well, it can't be you unless... Of course. You're in disguise."

"Now you get it," said the blonde cheerleader.

"That must mean you're Cordelia," said Buffy.

"Seriously?" asked the blonde cheerleader.

"Harmony?" asked Buffy.

"No," said the blonde cheerleader. "I'm not one of your classmates."

"Then you're -- I don't know -- Darla," said Buffy. "No, wait, she's dead. Drusilla? No, you're too blonde to be Drusilla, even in disguise. So you're that Inca mummy girl."

"No," said the blonde cheerleader.

"The praying mantis lady?" asked Buffy.

"No," said the blonde cheerleader.

"I know," said Buffy. "You're that invisible girl. Er, what was her name?"

"Sue Storm," suggested Xander.

"No, the evil invisible girl," said Buffy. "Marcie... er, something or other."

"You mean Marcy D'Arcy?" asked Xander.

"Xander, stop suggesting stuff," said Willow. "You're only confusing matters. I think she's talking about... um... What's her name? Shy girl or something like that."

"No, I am definitely not an invisible girl," said the blonde cheerleader. "Though I'm beginning to wish I were. I'm --"

"I got it!" exclaimed Buffy. "You're a female version of the Master. Only that would make you... the Mistress? Maybe I should just call you Missy. No, come to think of it, Missy is a rather silly name for an arch -- whatever you are."

"I'm Catherine Madison, you idiot!" screamed the blonde cheerleader.

Buffy blinked. "Who?"

"She's my mother, Buffy," said present Amy. "The one who tried to kill both of us."

"Don't be silly, Amy," said Buffy. "She could not be your mother because your mother is dea -- Oh-oh!"

"Now you finally get it," said the woman who called herself Catherine Madison. "At least I hope you do. Any last requests?"
