Khala giggled, ‘You can’t scare me with that. Are you trying to scare me?’

‘I’m just telling you the truth. Otherworldly creatures with long and slimy tentacles who would like nothing more than to feast on your brain. And then they would use your mindless body left behind for their own pleasure and breeding. They are the mortal enemy of my people,’ Q’rin said.

Khala gulped, ‘B=But those are rare and wouldn’t be in the ruins, right?’

‘Not as rare as we would like and an empty city makes a splendid lair for one of them,’ Q’rin said, ‘But don’t be dismayed, I have fought those creatures for decades before I came to the surface, I know how to defeat them. We are lucky that they are solitary, we’d only have to fight one.’

‘I don’t like the sound of those things,’ Lex said.

‘Me neither, I’ve never heard of such a creature,’ Mira agreed.

Q’rin chuckled, ‘They are not well known among the surface dwellers, only the dwarves would know what I speak of. But those creatures are not the only dangerous things under the earth. Let’s hope there are no Formian colony has moved in. They are creatures half-man half-ant, not the brightest individually but intelligent as a whole. And they are extremely territorial.’

‘Great, brain-eating tentacle beasts and giant ants,’ Khala sighed, ‘Why are we going along with this again?’

‘Fame and money, as always,’ Mira laughed.

‘I haven’t even started on the deep spiders and living mushrooms…,’ Q’rin continued his tale of all the horrors under the earth.
