Chapter 40 by Twisted_Fellow Twisted_Fellow

Will it be too much to hope for?

Surprises, tingling, and disappointments

A few hours later, Blair was still waiting for Nora, apparently a new battle had taken place on the outskirts of town. Nora had been called away to help. Just as Blair was thinking of looking up another online story to read, Ellinor knocked on the room's archway, saying. "I hope I am not interrupting." Blair looked up from her phone and smiled to Ellinor, saying. "No, you're fine. Please, come in." Ellinor stepped in with the improved fist weapons, Nature's Embrace of Truesilver. Ellinor knelt down, offering those fist weapons to Blair. "It took a little longer than expected, but I hope these improvements meet your approval." Blair smiled and used Observe on them.

Observe:

Nature's Embrace of Truesilver: Rare Quality. 20 damage + Strength Modifier. Every hit deals 10 additional fire damage. Deals double damage against undead, demons, and abominations. If the user drops below 25% health, a Dryad will be summoned, restoring 50% health and mana, this effect cannot occur more than once every 5 minutes. Material: Truesilver, Firebrand Elixir, Reinforcement Oil, Primal Air, and Livingwood blessed by a Dryad. Durability 200/200.

As Blair took them from Ellinor, she blinked, feeling how amazingly light they were, unlike before. "Your work is quite impressive, Ellinor. You have improved these considerably." She set them upon her lap, looking to Ellinor before continuing to speak. "How did you reduce their weight so much?" Ellinor smiled, blushing, hearing Blair's praise. "I altered their weight by using several Primal Air. Their proper alignment is what took so long. I wanted to make sure your weapons weren't too encumbering." Blair felt her eyes tearing up, not from sadness, but from joy. "It was nice of you to be so considerate." She took in a light breath, forcing back her tears before smiling. "For doing such a wonderful job, is there anything you'd like from me?" Ellinor looked up to Blair. "If I might be so bold, umm, I would like a kiss. I hope it is not too much to ask." Blair blushed, placing those fist weapons on the bed beside her. "Well, if that is what you desire. You'll need to sit on my lap." Ellinor smiled like a school girl, quickly getting up to slip onto Blair's lap. "Close your eyes." She whispered into Ellinor's ear, those eyes quickly closing before her. Blair's eyes glanced to Ellinor's rosy red lips. 'This was it, remember, only a kiss, this is Ellinor's reward.' She thought to herself while leaning in slowly. Her own eyes closed as she tenderly kissed Ellinor's lips, her right hand lifted up to gently cup Ellinor's left cheek, deepening that kiss slightly. She felt Ellinor's lips caressing hers as Ellinor moved closer to her, but her cheeks deeply reddened when she felt Ellinor's hand upon her waist. Blair was surprised by how their bodies trembled, this level of tenderness was making everything more intense. Ellinor's score shot up to 195. Blair almost felt like Ellinor was the type of woman she was looking for. She felt closer to Ellinor, more than she had with anyone else in her life, Blair was starting to wonder, 'Is this what love feels like?' She rubbed the tip of her nose against Ellinor's. "How was that for a reward?" She was shocked to hear Ellinor's reply. "Wonderful, but I wonder. What do I need to do, to earn the right to taste your beautiful pussy?" This was the first time she was at a loss for words. Blair slipped her fingers through Ellinor's hair, giving herself a moment to think before saying. "I think you have made a pretty good case for it already."

After a moment of silence, Ellinor leaned down, kissing Blair's neck gently. Blair's phone began to ring. "Fuck.." She said, clearly agitated. She tried to relax, clearing her throat before answering. "Hello?" Ellinor nipped a couple times along Blair's neck before nuzzling to her. Blair tilted her head as her other hand ran along Ellinor's back. "Blair, this is Aisha." She blinked. "What? Um, is everything alright? I got a weird text message referring to you earlier." She heard a soft sigh before Aisha continued to speak. "Yeah, um, I got an anonymous tip telling me to leave work early and to call you once I got to the 35th police station. Do you know something I don't?" Blair sighed softly. "All I know is that someone wants me to meet them in the alleyway behind that police station at midnight. They hinted that your safety would be compromised otherwise, but they didn't say how or why." There was silence on the other end for a moment, Ellinor snuggling against Blair's breast before Aisha said. "I, I see. I guess I should stay here until this mess blows over. I, I'm sorry about firing you." Blair was starting to feel more agitated, but sighed instead. "I understand, you just didn't want things to get weird at work." There was another pause before Aisha replied. "There is more to it than that. I, I was afraid. I felt too attached to you. We were moving too fast." Blair sighed softly after hearing that. This was annoying Blair to no end, but now wasn't the time to argue about it. It was clear to Blair that Aisha wasn't really interested in working things out. She felt it was ironic that someone Aisha's age wasn't mature enough to have tried to communicate properly in the first place, but she didn't want to kick Aisha while she was down. She was thinking about all that before replying. "I, I see. Well, I don't understand why you didn't tell me this at the time, but nevermind. I will try to take care of this. You just be sure to stay safe, Aisha." She hung up the phone before Aisha could say anything else, turning her head slightly with a huff. Ellinor just stayed close to Blair.

After a few minutes of cuddling, Ellinor leaned up and kissed Blair's neck. "Is there anything I can do to improve your mood?" Blair smiled softly, hearing Ellinor's voice before replying. "You already have, Ellinor." She kissed the top of Ellinor's head before saying. "We should get something to eat. I am sure you have worked up an appetite after working for so long." Ellinor thought a moment before nodding, saying. "Yes. Um, should I ask Henry to have a meal prepared for us?" She nodded slightly, saying. "Yes, that would be nice. I am sorry to have cut this short." Ellinor chuckled before smiling. "Don't worry about it, Blair. Just relax, I will go find Henry." She said, slipping off Blair's lap before leaving the room. Blair sighed softly, laying back on the bed. This day had been rather intense. She sighed again while opening her inventory, picking up her new fist weapons. She decided to take a moment to rename them, "Firebrand of Nature", before putting them into her inventory. She was a little disappointed that they took up two inventory slots, but today seemed to be giving her plenty of that.

Tonight won't be so disappointing, right?
