Chapter 39

Oh, the possibilities from within her phone.
Someone unknown
Once she made it to Nora's room, she opened her inventory and took out her books, Way of the Tide and Nature's Will. She laid them upon the bed and gently touched, Way of the Tide first, receiving a notification right away.
Way of the Tide: When Learned will grant the following skill.
(Passive) Way of the Tide lvl 1
Allows your movements to become more fluid, reducing damage taken while moving by 10% from all sources.
Your body becomes like a tidal wave, every 10th strike does 2 times damage.
Every consecutive 10th strike against the same target increases damage by an additional 2 times, this effect can increase up to 6 times.
(Example: Damage x 2 up to x 12)
Accept or Decline?
(Author's note: For those curious about why this ability seems different, it is because I changed it. I felt the previous description made it too powerful. It has been corrected on the previous corresponding chapter, 33. My apologies for the confusion.)
She hit accept, feeling the wave of information wash over her, her mind was sent off to train for what felt like years, her muscles tensing as she learned about focusing her strikes and increasing their effectiveness over time when striking the same target. Her mind and muscles adapted to the new information, the muscle memory being ingrained almost instantly into her. She let out a slow breath, her eyes closing then opening. "I am not sure I will ever get used to that." She said to herself before looking to Nature's Will, touching it, receiving a notification.
Nature's Will: When learned will grant the following skills.
Nature's Will lvl 1 - Range 10 yd
Cost: 50 Mp
Summons a random elemental to aid you for 1 minute.
Fire, Air, Water, Earth, Arcane, and Void. (Powers vary by level of spell and the user)
Mother Earth's Blessing lvl 1 - Range 40 yd
Cost: 75 Mp
Restores 50 health instantly and another 50 over 5 seconds, each tick has a 50% chance to remove one negative status effect such as wounds, curses, diseases, poisons, and magical debuffs.
Accept or Decline?
She hit accept, her eyes widened as she felt herself sent off again, this however, felt more like when she had met her Arcane Twin. After a moment of feeling weightlessness, she was relocated to a place that reminded her of the Throne of Elements in Nagrand of Outland in the game World of Warcraft. She could see six elementals before her, fire, air, water, earth, arcane, and void, each towering above her roughly three times her own size, they stood in front of their own pillar with a runic marking symbolizing their element. Unlike that of Nagrand, no guardian was awaiting her, only the elementals, each taking a turn to offer their service when requested. She looked to each of them one by one and each whispered into her mind, "When you call, one of my children will come to your aid, Blair, The Gamer Mitchell. We await your call." She found it interesting that each said the same thing, before she was pulled back into her own body. At least, that is how it felt.
After a moment, she shook her head slightly. "That was intense." She said to herself, looking to where she had set her purse. She sat upon the bed, after retrieving her phone, checking it for any missed calls or messages. There was one from Lusserina, and one from an unknown number. She clicked on Lusserina's message first.
Lusserina: "I am fine, just missing you. I know you are likely busy, but I hope I get to see you soon."
That made her blush, smiling to herself before typing a reply.
Blair: "Yeah, things have been rather busy over here. I have been thinking about a certain pretty elf, who I would love to have licking my pussy."
She chuckled as she sent that before checking that unknown number.
Unknown: "This, is not someone you know, but I know a lot about you. If you value the safety of Aisha Williams, and I know you do. Come alone to the alleyway behind the 35th police station at midnight. See you there, Blair."
She blinked, thinking, 'What? Oh no, did someone kidnap Aisha!?' Granted Aisha had dumped her, but she didn't really want anything bad to happen to her. Luckily it didn't say anything about telling anyone, but coming alone was always a bad idea in situations like these. Well, at least that is what video games and movies had taught her over the years. She sent a text to Nora.
Blair: "Um, I just got a weird text saying to come to the alleyway behind the 35th police station alone at midnight. I do not know if it is legit, but they were threatening my ex boss's life."
A minute later she got a reply.
Nora: "That can't be good. I am going to guess it is someone from the Abyss if they are saying behind the police station, that or they are pretty stupid. Good thing your fist weapons will be ready before then. Have you had a chance to learn your new abilities from those spell books?"
Blair: "I just did, they were rather intense. I would like to talk to you in person when you have the time."
Nora: "I should be done in about 10 minutes. I just need to heal this man's wounds. They are pretty bad. See you soon."
She sighed softly before closing her eyes. She was hoping this was just a prank or something equally stupid, but who would list themselves as unknown? She didn't have any friends prior to receiving her powers. Well, excluding the one she had growing up, but she hadn't seen her since she was five years old. It was very unlikely that she would run into her, nor did she have this sort of sense of humor. Hmm, now that she thought about it, she only really remembered two things, her name, Vaniqua Wright, and that she was black. Something felt off. Why the police station? Did she know anyone there? She could only think of that officer that showed up at her apartment. What was his name? Officer Takes it? She chuckled, thinking about that before trying harder to seriously remember, but what came to her was just as good. He had given her a card with his information on it. She searched for it inside her purse. After finding it, she could clearly read the name, Officer Robert Will Davis.
She tilted her head slightly, there was plenty to think about. She had dealt with someone dying in front of her, but this wasn't the same. This was someone she had slept with, someone she cared about. She hoped this wasn't anything serious and that Aisha would be safe.

Descent into the Abyss
Man or woman?
I am basing the world off of "The Gamer" by Sangyoung Seong. I wanted to shake it up and add more flexibility.
