Chapter 5 by NeedAMedic NeedAMedic

Shall the toads strike or move on to another target?

The Toads attack and Lux isn't quick enough

Cave Toads were not native to this land. They lacked any knowledge of how it worked, the magics and factions at play, the strange and monstrous creatures that could be found here, or just how powerful it's denizens could be. What they did know, however, as creatures of lust, was the look of a perfect victim. With her eyes closed and lips pursed slightly in silent concentration and a lovely feminine figure swaying slightly, almost tauntingly as she stood before them, Lux was the perfect profile of an innocent slut waiting to be bred.

They moved quickly to flank her, their expertise as hunters allowing even the broad flatness of their webbed feet to traipse through the underbrush without a sound. With their target surrounded, the larger of the two let out a deep, guttural croak it's pitch so low and timbre so broad as to be nearly sub vocal. The sound did nothing to alert their target, but immediately set their attack into motion.

The pair of toads came hurtling from the underbrush, bolting out of the woods as quickly as their bizarrely-shaped legs would carry them. Which was, as a matter of fact, not actually particularly quickly. A toad's legs were not made for running, after all and they offered no advantage on the empty grass of the lane as they would have in their native swamps and caves. Their silently prepared ambush gave way to a cacophony of plodding footsteps and croaking war cries as the two closed in on Lux.

The young woman's eyes shot open, piercing blue marbles which latched onto the sight of the smaller toad running toward her. An attack? Now?! She didn't recognize the creature-- was he perhaps a beast summoned by the enemy team? There was no time for her to think it through. He would be upon her in mere moments. Lux did the math quickly in her head. The creature was nearly a dozen meters away still, and though he was closing ground at a decent speed, there was simply no way that such awkward, plodding strides could reach her before her recall spell finished channeling.

A slight smirk crossed her lips. She would simply let the spell complete, then once she was back at her base, Lux would alert her teammates and they could figure this out together. It was quite troubling how--

CROAK! The overwhelming sound hit Lux's ears a mere instant before the second, much larger of the two toads slammed into her from behind, his considerable bulk throwing her to the floor with ease and pinning her beneath his mass. The recalls spell tried to finish, but it's target was suddenly not within it's reach. An empty column of air was teleported back to the Demacian team's base, which Luxanna Crownguard's head spun in confusion.

Is there anyone nearby to help or must Lux face this ordeal alone?
