Chapter 21 by Ben Rosewood Ben Rosewood

Wait!? What just happened?

The Pursuit

Seeing the Gobbin stop, Kal knew it was now or never. He didn't exactly have much care for the captured woman, but he sure as hell didn't want that goblin bastard to have his way. Certain he'd need every advantage he could get for a potential fight, Kal channels his energy, powering his body with magical energy. He'd feel it later, but that was much less of a concern compared to wanting to turn that bastard's skull into mush with his pounding fists.

If he hadn't been in such a blind rage, he'd realized such a pursuit was foolish. The Trok was faster than him, but the adrenaline pumping through his veins told him this was a race he could win. Still, he managed to keep near the Trok, although the goblin warrior was too occupied with his captive to worry about him. The fact that the trok had to dodge the trees was also slowing the beast down.

As the pursuit continued, Kal realized he was running out of breath. He would have to act now if he wanted to get that bastard. As he leaped forward, he put his hand on the goblin, attempting to dismount him. His hand grasped onto the goblin's armor, causing the goblin to justle around. The Trok's body then shifted, making Kal lose his grip and crash into the ground. After his landing, Kal did his best to get back up, not wanting to be caught off guard.

Standing up, he turns to see the goblin pause, his eyes gazing off to Kal's right. He looks to see the woman from before, lying on the ground. If the goblin wanted one thing, it was the mage, so Kal put himself between the two and raised his fists. Despite his desires, the goblin just grins, before shaking his cock and turning his trok around.

"Scared of an unarmed man?" Kal taunted. His statement fell on deaf ears, as the goblin just continued to flee. Disappointed, Kal sighed. "Cunt."

After a quick scan of the area, Kal looked to the human mage and offered her a hand. She accepted and let Kal pull her up.

"You okay?" He asked.

"W-wha..." The woman is visibly trembling. Once she's on her feet, she hugged herself. "I-I'm... Yes... thank you."

"Don't thank me yet. We're not out of the woods." Kal looked around the forest, trying to figure out which way he had entered. "We've got about half an hour to get as much distance as possible before I crash."

"O-okay... Which way?"

"Good question." After a brief pause, Kal moved to the woman's right, figuring he'd at least put distance between himself and the goblin. "Come on."

The woman watched as Kal moved, wondering if she was truly safe with the brute. Then again, she figured it would be safer than being left alone again. After a sigh, she followed Kal in his chosen direction.

How are the others doing?
