Slayers say the darndest things

"I'm serious," said Kennedy. "I am a vampire slayer."

Drusilla and Spike just continued to laugh in Kennedy's direction.

"Perhaps if you put your clothes back on, they'll take you more seriously," said Buffy with a note of kindness in her voice.

"Hell, it won't matter," said Spike. "The Witch's Girlfriend can dress like the bloody Queen and we'd still have trouble taking her seriously."

Kennedy just frowned and started putting her clothes on.

"Oh, please, you guys," she said as she got dressed. "I've killed Bringers and Ubervamps. You two are not going to be a big deal compared to those creeps. You didn't even recognize Buffy as a Slayer the first time you saw her so how smart can you be?"

"Brag all you want," said Spike. "In the end, it's who walks away from a fight that counts. Though it must admit that it would give me great pleasure to turn you just so that you can remember losing this fight for the rest of eternity."

"No, let me turn her," said Drusilla. "I've always wanted a daughter."

"Heck, turn them both," said Spike. "That way you could have twins."

"Could I, Spike?" asked Drusilla. "That would be all so exciting."

"Nobody's turning anyone," said Amy. "And if you'll try, I'll just have to turn the two of you into rats."

"Can she do that, Spike?" said Drusilla.

"I don't know, luv," said Spike. "Kinda hard for a witch to cast a spell with a broken arm. Heck, luv, please feel free to break both of them. And her neck as well."

"Thank you, Spike," said Drusilla.

"Er, Amy," said Buffy, "I truly appreciate the tough talk on our behalf but you and Kennedy aren't exactly intimidating them."

"Oh, really?" asked Amy.

Then she cast a spell and just like that, Spike was as still as a statue.

"Still want to take us on, Drusilla?" asked Amy.

"I don't know about Drusilla but I would like to give it a try," said a voice from the shadows.

As Amy, Kennedy and Buffy watched, a blonde girl who appeared to be roughly Drusilla's age emerged from the shadows behind Drusilla. She was dressed in a Catholic schoolgirl's uniform and she had her hands in her pockets.

"Who the hell are you?" asked Kennedy.

"Why, I'm Darla," said the blonde woman. "And you might say that I'm the latest member of Team Vampire."

"Well, good luck with that," said Kennedy. "The odds are still against you in this fight."

"Only if you confine yourself to hand-to-hand combat," said Darla.

Then she took her hands out of her pockets and revealed that she held a revolver in each hand.

Then Darla said, "I, of course, prefer guns. If only for no other reason than the fact that neither Slayers nor witches are bulletproof."
