Chapter 20 by Ragnockae136 Ragnockae136

What Is The Answer To That Particular Question?????

Where A Lesser Flower Withers and Dies, A Golden Rose Takes Its Place. Always Growing Strong

Aegon's Change Didn't Last Long, and Though His Grief and Guilt Was Still Running Strong, It Was Unavoidably Weakened In The Presence Of Margaery Tyrell. Despite His Desire To Remain Detached, Margaery Reignited The Dimmed and Dying Flame Inside Aegon, Where The Dark and Stark Coloring Was Prominent, Life Flourished Once More Bright Colors and Furnishings Were Introduced, With Targaryen, Dornish and Stark and Tully Banners and Embroidery Featured Proudly. Of Course Aegon Maintained A Dimmed Light In The Throne Room To Cowe New Guests and Gain An Advantage. But The Life He Stole From Himself From Ordering Visenya's ****, Was Now Back, Back Just As Quickly As It Had Departed. Tyene and Nymeria Were Understandably Disappointed That Aegon had Lost His Sexual Coldness and Roughness, but He Maintained Some Of It For Special Occasions Or Nights.

Aegon Sat Having A Lunch With The Tyrell Family, The Martell's, The Lannisters, Baratheon's, and The Starks and Tully's. Catelyn Stark, Her Brother and Uncle, Her Sister-In-Law Lyanna, Her Son's Bran and Rickon, Her Daughter Arya, and Herself and Her Husband Ned Stark Represented The Stark's and Tully's. Tywin Lannister, His Son's Jaimie, Tyrion, and His Daughter Cersei Represented House Lannister. Stannis Baratheon, His Wife Janna, Brother Renly, and Niece Myrcella Represented The Baratheon's. Mace Tyrell, His Wife Alerie, Mother Olenna, Daughter Margery, and Son's Willas and Loras Represented House Tyrell. Arianne, Quentyn, Trystane, Elia, Oberyn and The Elder Sand Snake's Represented House Martell. Aegon, Rhaenys, Sansa, and Princes Daereon and Jaehaerys With Princess Rhaenyra Represented House Targaryen. Together They Sat At A Large Table With A Full Meal Prepared For Them. At The Head Of The Table Sat Aegon, Beside Him Sat Sansa, Beside Her Sat Her Mother and Siblings. On The Other Side Of Aegon Was Rhaenys and Beside Her Arianne, Quentyn and Trystane. Besides Trystane Was Myrcella Baratheon, Her Uncles Renly and Stannis. Besides Stannis Was His Wife Janna Who Sat Beside Her Niece Margaery. Followed By Loras, Olenna, Mace, and Willas. Oberyn Martell Sat Apart From His Family, Sitting Beside His Friend Willas Tyrell. The Sand Snakes Stood Guard. Besides Oberyn Was Tyrion, Jaimie, and Cersei With Tywin At The Other End.

The Meal Was Served, and Much Attention Was Brought To The New Royal Children. Whilst Eating A Leg Of Salted Pork, Which Happened To Be Aegon's Favorite, The Young King Raised A Matter He'd Been Considering. "Before We Delve Into Our Food Any Further, I'd Like To Make An Announcement. I Have Decided, To Forgive Lord Mace For His Insults Against Queen Sansa and Queen......Visenya, and As A Show Of Good Faith In This, I Have Decided To Accept His Suggestion, and Take Margaery As My Second Queen. I Would Also Like Daereon To Be Fostered At Casterly Rock When He Comes Of Age, Can You and Your Son's Accomodate Us Lord Tywin?" Asks Aegon. "Of Course Your Grace, It'd Be Our Honor." Says A Pleased Tywin. "As For Prince Jaehaerys, I Would Like Him To Be Fostered At Storms End, Seem's Only Fair, Considering Lord Steffon and Lord Tywin Were Fostered At Court With My Grandfather." Says Aegon As Tywin and Stannis Exchange A Silent and Respectful Glance and Acknowledgement Over The Mentioning Of Stannis's Late Father. "It'd Be An Honor Your Grace." Stannis States, Before Exchanging A Look With His Wife. "Your Grace, If I May?" Asks Stannis. "Of Course Lord Stannis." Says Aegon. "I Am Proud To State That My Wife Is With Our First Child, With Your Permission Your Grace If It's A Boy, I'd Like To Name It After King Rhaegar?" Asks Stannis. "You Think You Need To Ask My Permission? I Am King, But Not Your Father. You Are Father To This Child, If You Wish To Name The Child After My Father, By All Means Do So, But Think On It Carefully Renowned Names Carry Heavy Burdens." Says Aegon. "Thank You Your Grace." Says Stannis. "Come Now Stannis, We've Known Each Other Long Enough To Do Away With Formalities." Says Aegon, Before Turning His Attention To Tywin and Quentyn.

"My Father Also Wishes To Express His Thanks To You Lord Stannis, For Agreeing To The Match Of Lady Myrcella and My Brother Trystane." Says Quentyn. "Think Nothing Of It Prince Quentyn, Myrcella and Trystane Should Be A Good Match and Fit Each Other Well." Says Stannis As an Awkwardness Hangs Itself Around Myrcella and Trystane. "I Would Like To Propose A Toast, To The Old Generation That Fought Against Each Other, But Made Peace For The Sake Of Their Children and Families, and The Next Generation That Continues To Bring Honor To Their Parents." Says Aegon As The Whole Table Raises A Glass Of Arbor Gold With The Exception Of Brandon and Rickon Stark, As Both Are Far Too Young To Drink, and Oberyn and Willas Who Share A Glass Of Dornish Red Straight From Sunspear.

The Remainder Of The Meal Was Mostly Aegon Paying Attention To Sansa and Their Son. While Rhaenys and Arianne Played With Prince Jaehaerys and Princess Rhaenyra. Tyene and Nymeria Had Abandoned Their "Guard Positions" To Play With Jaehaerys and Rhaenyra. Even Obara Failed To Maintain A Straight Face When Tye Had Thrust Princess Rhaenyra In Her Eldest Sister's Face. Eventually Aegon Chose To Speak Privately With Lady Olenna and Lord Stannis. "I've Been Meaning To Ask Lady Olenna, Would You Consider Staying In Kingslanding To Serve As An Advisor To The Small Council? Few Woman Are As Old As You, But Still Have The Wit and Quickness Of Any Young Man." Says Aegon. "Well, I Am Loathe To Leave Margaery Alone In This Cesspit Of A City, and I Could Do With A Change Of Scenery, So I'll Consider It. Now I Must Go, Before My Silly Grandson Loras Makes Any More Of A Fool Of Himself." Says Olenna After Taking A Sip Of Her Ancestral Wine, Arbor Gold. "What Did You Wish To Ask Me Your Grace?" Asks Stannis. "I Want A Representative From House Baratheon On The Small Council. You Have Served Admirably In The Past, But I Would Not Take You Away From Your Wife and Home. You Are Lord Of Storm's End, and Renly Being In Kingslanding Would Keep Him Out Of Your Way, and Allow Me To Keep Him More Actively On Hand For A Potentially Suitable Match." Says Aegon. "Hmm, Much As I Hate To Admit It, Renly Would Fit In At Court Better Than I Did. Very Well Your Grace, I'll Empower Renly To Speak On My Behalf and Represent The Stormlands On The Small Council." Says Stannis. "Thank You, But That Wasn't The Only Matter I Wanted To Raise. There Is Much Uncertainty Around The Future, and I Need Storms End To Stand Strong For The Crown. Trystane and Myrcella Are One Piece Of That Equation, The Other Is Renly, If At All Possible, I'd Like To Arrange A Match With Princess Daenerys." Say's Aegon.

"A Royal Match For Renly?" Asks Stannis. "Robert Is Dead, Your Already Married, That Leaves Renly As The Sole Unwed Or Not Betrothed Baratheon Of The House. But, Perhaps We Could Seek Out Robert's Bastards, Legitimise Them, and Marry Them Off To Various Houses To Raise House Baratheon's Strength." Says Aegon. "I Was Never A Fan Of Robert's Whoring, Nor His Bastards, But What You Say Makes Good Sense. Hmm, I Don't Like It, But I Will Do What I Must To Ensure House Baratheon Doesn't Die With Me Or My Brother." Says Stannis. "I'll Instruct Varys To Seek Them Out, Lord Stark Knew Robert Better Than Anybody, So I'll Have Him In Charge Of Seeking Them Out." Says Aegon. Soon Enough Sansa Brings A Crying Daereon To His Father. "Your Grace, He Won't Stop Crying." Says Sansa. "Give Him To Me." Says Aegon, and Sansa Hands Their Son To Him. Almost Immediately, Daereon Stops Crying, His Little Arms Reaching Out For His Father. "Hey, It's Alright Little Daereon. Father's Here, and He'll Always Protect You." Says Aegon As Aegon Shares A Smile With His Wife.

Aegon Sat With Lord Stark and Lord Stannis, Discussing Potential Marriage Alliances Between A Legitimised Bastard Of Robert and Another House, While Varys Listed The Known Or Rumoured Bastard. "What Of This Mya Stone? Born During The Time Robert and I Were Fostered At The Vale Of Arryn?" Asks Lord Stark. "Hmm, By Laws She Is Older Than Myrcella Thus Making Her Heiress Of Storm's End. Troublesome, But True." Says Stannis. "Perhaps, Perhaps We Could Marry Her To Your Own Eldest Boy Lord Stark. My Mother Never Married Robert, and Didn't He Desire Myrcella To Marry One Of Your Boys? Doing This Would Bring Some Measure Of Peace To The Robert Who Died." Says Aegon. "Hmm, Robb and Mya Stone? She'd Need To Be Legitimised, But, I Owe Robert That Much." Says Stark. "I Think You Mean Mya Baratheon. I'll Have Lord Royce Send For Her To Come To Kingslanding Where I Can Personally Legitimise Her. But I Want Her Kept Ignorant Of The Matter Or Reason." Says Aegon. "I'll Tell Lord Royce At Once Your Grace." Says Varys. "Do It, But What Do You Know Of This Bella?" Asks Aegon. "My Birds Report She Bears All The Familial Traits Robert Himself Had, There Can Be Little Doubt She Is A Bastard Of Storm's End." Says Varys. "Have Lord Hoster Tully Send Her To Court Immediately, But Make Sure The Blackfish Is Leading The Escort, He'll Make Sure Nothing Happens To Her On The Way."Says Aegon. "As You Will Your Grace.

Aegon Sat On The Iron Throne While Stannis, Eddard Stark, and Renly Baratheon Were Standing At His Side With Quentyn. "Your Grace, Allow Me To Introduce Mya Stone, Summoned As You Demanded." Says Lord Yohn Royce. Mya Stone Bows But Avoids Her King's Gaze. "Well Lord's Stark and Stannis? Are Our Suspicions Correct?" Asks Aegon As Whispers Spread Amongst The Court. The Two Lords Step Down To Mya and Examine Her More Closely. "Aye, She Is What We Suspect." Says Stannis. "Mya Stone, You Have Been Summoned Here, Because We Wish To Legitimise You. Your Father, Was Lord Robert, Of The House Baratheon. Fathered During His Teen Years At The Eyrie Alongside Lord Stark. To Ensure The Baratheon Bloodline Endures, I Name Your Mya Baratheon, Daughter Of Lord Robert, Lady of The Storm, Heiress To Storm's End. Your Father Was Never Secret To Anyone, Your Younger Sister, Myrcella Is Marrying My Cousin, I Trust You'll Attend The Wedding?" Asks Aegon. "Of C-Course Your Grace." Says An Astounded Mya. "As The First Of Robert's Bastards, and The First To Be Legitimised, We Have Decided To Send You To Winterfell, To Serve At The Home Of The Man Who Knew Him Best. Lord Stark Is Master Of Laws, So His Son Robb, Named For Your Father, Will Be Your Liege. Lord Renly, Your Father's Youngest Brother, Will Take To Winterfell." Says Aegon As Renly Steps Down and Leads The New Baratheon Heiress Out.
