What's happened to Sally and Daala?

They're getting robbed blind

Chapter 88 by hambo hambo

Sally stood in a small clothing boutique, eyeing the wares while a blonde halfling woman named Tammy studied the 'spare' set of clothes she had brought in.

Sally was book smart, but about as sheltered as a nerdy girl could get, so when she had spotted a sign saying "The Finest Clothes In Pilla!" hanging in the shop's window, she had immediately believed it.

"Well, the stitching is pretty decent on these," says the little halfling, "but the fabric itself is kinda cheap."

"Really?" Sally asks, believing the clerk's obvious attempt to lowball her.

"Yeah, this stuff probably wouldn't last a week out in the wilderness, I'd be lucky to find anyone who would be willing to buy it," the clerk lied.

Sally had entered the store with an aura of command, dressed smartly in the clothes she had stolen from Daala (who now stood silently behind her mistress, dressed only in a rag slightly better than a loin cloth. Her face blushing as her hands tried to cover her bare breasts), but it hadn't taken long for this halfling to size her up and realize that this tiny tyrant could be easily fooled.

"I could only give you 5 copper for it, and that's being generous," says Tammy, even though adventuring gear like this always sold for 20 times as much.

"Is... is that a lot?" Sally asks as Tammy tries her hardest not to smile and snicker.

"It's... okay," Tammy manages to say with a straight face. "But look, I don't want you to leave here empty-handed," she wanted her to leave here bare-assed and broke, "so if you see something in here you like, we can probably work out a good trade."

"That sounds fair," Sally says as she looks around the shop.
