The Talk

Once he pulled into his garage, Spencer took a deep breath. His mind tried to calculate how his daughter would respond, but after a minute, he realized that there was no point in delaying. Inside the living room, he found Amy sitting on the couch.

"Hey Dad." She said.

"Hey... uh we need to talk."

Amy's face crumples in confusion. "Oh... okay?"

"You're not in any trouble."

She nodded as Spencer sat down next to her.

"It's about Jasmine and Amber."

"Okay."

After a sigh, Spencer said "They want to have a child and they want me to... uhh be the father..."

"Like, as in... biologically?"

"Yeah..."

Amy remains silent for a moment. A moment that allowed Spencer to dwell on his concerns. Eventually, Amy says "Well, I mean I guess there's nothing wrong with that."

Spencer put his hand on Amy's shoulder. "I still love you... and Mom."

"I know Dad. I mean I can understand where they're coming from." Amy then smiled. "Plus, the house is done so I guess you need a new project, right?"

After a slight laugh, Spencer said. "Guess I do."

"Well, I don't see the problem. You still love me and I still love you."

"Exactly." Spencer nodded as he relaxed down into the couch, glad that his daughter was still on his side.
