Guessing

The next morning, Spencer sighed in the mirror. Last night with Cindy seemed like a haze. There was one thing, however, that was crystal clear: 'You ever think you could love someone like you loved her?' Part of Spencer could swear he could hear those words as if Cindy was speaking them right that moment. He liked to believe he'd told Cindy the truth last night, but he also knew that it took him six years to even consider another answer that wasn't 'no'.

As he headed to the kitchen, he wondered what he was going to say to Amy. The words failed to come, even when he sat down at the dining table. Whilst his mind tried to come up with an answer, Amy said "You alright Dad?"

"Yeah... I've got something to say."

"Okay?"

"Me and Miss Lynn are... how do I say this... more serious that I might I said."

Amy shot Spencer a puzzled look "Like dating?"

"Yeah."

"Alright."

"I know it's complicated..."

"I get it Dad. It's cool. So long you're happy."

With that, Spencer let out a sigh.

When it came time to drop Amy off, Spencer looked to Cindy's classroom. He saw her in the window, looking to him. They exchanged a wave as he wondered what was going through her head. Like always, Cindy had found a way to keep Spencer guessing.

As Spencer drove away, Cindy went back to her desk. Spencer made her feel so many things: Happiness. Excitement. Arousal. Nervousness. Still, she was certain she was right with taking things further with Spencer. Another man like him wasn't going to walk into her life anytime soon, and he was just about everything she was looking for.

When she went for her lunch break, Cindy sent Spencer a text.

'hey babe'

'hey hows ur day going?'

'good. I was thinking u wanna do something together this weekend?'

'would love to. anything in mind?'

'maybe we could hang out at Oxford? havent been there in a while?'

'sure'

'cool c u then'
