Go to the Cave

It would be very easy to just go to Ostvale and take the reward.But that would be unnaturally fast for someone without remarkable strength. So I'll just go to that cave and see what I can do,Britts corpse should still be there. Getting something from her should serve as proof of subjugation.

You arrive at the cave around noon. There doesn't seem to be any changes from when you left it. Doesn't seem like anyone found the place yet.

What is this place? Is this the bandit hideout? You hear Elizabeth speaking inside your shared mind. Somehow,you feel that she isn't that afraid or enraged.Unlike how it went before with the others.

Hm? Well aren't you calm. For someone who just got her body stolen this is quite the unexpected reaction.

I'm not sure why either,it was eerie seeing my body move on it's own without my mind moving it. But you haven't done anything strange so far. I've been thinking while we,or rather,you walked. Just what are you?

You hesitate for a bit. You don't want to reveal anything that can be detrimental to you,but she does seem like someone you can talk with. I'm just a monster who can,as you see,take over human bodies. You probably know I'm a worm already from that talk with that Paladin.

Why do you need to take control of humans?

Are you really asking that? Humans like you kill my kind every day,I had to come up with something in order to live.

Couldn't you have done something else instead of this?

Maybe if you humans didn't kill us repeatedly,but with how things are,I don't think so. Even now a peaceful solution is not an option. That Paladin from before would jump at a chance to kill me,I won't just quietly die off for you people.

Then,can you at least give me back my body? I know that we've never treated your kind with anything good before,but would you treat us with the same cruelty? What's the difference then?

Well,in a way I guess what I've been doing is just indiscriminately ruining the lived of humans. But I see no other way to live right now. As for returning your body,maybe I'll consider it if I deem you trustworthy enough not to rat me out in case I do. But in the meanwhile,bear with it as I use it.

Eirene was able to influence my thoughts for quite a while. And she almost succeeded in it. Perhaps it's also possible for me to make Elizabeth more,cooperative and loyal to me. If it's possible leaving her body and finding another one wouldn't be a bad idea,I would have an ally.

After speaking to Elizabeth inside your mind while walking,you've arrived in front of cell where you killed Britts. You see her lifeless body lying down on the ground,the foul smell of corpse around it spreads to where you stand. You quickly cover your nose instinctively,it didn't help much though.

Well,I better burn that corpse. Leaving it here just makes me feel sick. I'll go see what I can get before doing that though,there's nothing valuable but anything's fine if it can be used. You then enter the adjacent room and check for anything valuable.

The only result of the search was a headband,a disappointing result. Hopefully this'll be enough for proof of killing the bandits,there's nothing left around here. I'm getting tired too,or at least the body is. I'll sleep after burning the body.
